I have accumulated a multitude of thumb drives and portable hard drives of various sizes. I have told myself I would like to use only one drive to search for data instead of plugging one and then another to find the necessary files.I decided to buy a large drive and consolidate the files on one drive. I did purchase this drive and have started the process. It’s great.

So far so good! Installed with 0 issues. No odd noises, works like new. Using for my plex server. Do not recommend n HDD for a boot drive in todays world but for just files this works great

I haven't had a problem with any used or refurbished drives yet. Loading this one up with movie downloads in mp4 format and it's working fine.

A note if you please , once formatted for windows you will end up with just over 9TB ( 9.09 TB ) . Remember this isn't a Product issue its how windows stores its data ( NTFS ) there is actually a full 10TB on the disk if using a different disk format eg ( FAT32) but due to its very large size its better to use NTFS as this reduces Fragmentation of large files . I use mine for a Game drive for my very large Steam game folder which is now Nearly 1400 games and so far it works perfectly .

I bought this as the 6TB storage platter drive that I have showed signs of failure when running Crystaldiskinfo. so figured I'd better get another one with just a tad more storage also. Hooked right up and formatting was done almost instantly. I got nearly 3.5 TB of data transfered over but the whole time I kept wondering what in the heck all the noise was coming from my computer. turn out it's this new hard drive. I guess as long as it works and doesn't fail me I'll just have to put up with it for now for at least as long as they don't make large capacity SSD drives. That would have been my choice since I want to take advantage of my intel 13900K CPU and Z790 chipset which a platter drive spinning at 7200 RPMs is the bottle neck for the whole system now.As stated, it appears to be working fine as of right now and now that I got my data switched over and drive letters exchanged to reflect this new drive as my primary storage drive now, It appears to be ok.

While the price per TB is very appealing and storage corresponds to the declared values one of the two drives purchased failed less than 6 months into operation. You can still probably use them for nonessential data or as part of the RAID 1 massive. But generally, stay away from this product.
