Seems like all I can find in the hardware store these days is the big plastic "in use" type of outlet cover. Not sure why they're so popular... they're ugly, easily broken, and expensive! I prefer this "old school" type - sturdy, metal cover with good rubber seals inside. This is the one you want - skip the plastic ones!

They include metal 'inserts' for way more electrical components than I would ever use -- Decora, double receptacle, toggle switch, etc.I found it a little bit 'fiddly' to hold the cover, the insert, and the receptacle together while starting the screw into the outlet box, but then I have 10 thumbs and I was on a ladder :)Seriously, a nice product. So nice, I feel guilty tossing the inserts I didn't use.I've already purchased a horizontal single gang cover and as soon as the vertical single gang covers are back in stock I'll be replacing all of my exterior covers.

Quality was there. Installation, by myself, took some time. The well-done foam insulating pad was, of course, not attached. The inserts (to fit any outlet) were loose. The screws are, of course, UNDER the hatch cover. I finally just taped everything together, and then fit the screws in. It all went in fine. If one had three hands or a helper, the install would be much easier. Still wonder why anyone uses slotted screws when Phillips screws work so much better. Fine product, good price. No doubt all of the other similar devices are installed in the same manner. I'd buy it again.

Just what I needed. Great quality, easy to install, and waterproof. Plus it comes with every option you need as a face plate. Great price. The pool company wanted $80 to install the same item and it's just a cover!! I highly recommend this product before calling someone to repair it. All you need is a screwdriver and some common sense.

I like the material and it seems to be waterproof so far. But it was a pain to install. The cover and templates have a slip opening for the screws so you can start them then slide the cover and templates on and tighten the screws. I needed more hands than I have to get the thing on the box. Also, the screws were too big for the large hole so I had to drill them out to get the cover on. The other issue is that to make sure that the cover closed all the way, I put eyehole screws in the lock tabs. Now that I have successfully installed it, it looks great and does what it is supposed to do.

All metal face and outlet masks make these a solid unit with the Sealproof outlet boxes I purchased with them. I had some difficulty understanding which pieces went on when, and a bit longer screw would have helped. The screw-head provided not clear the hole in the "keyhole", but I found plain old switch screws worked fine, and were a bit longer. Best part of this setup was that the outlet spacings were precision, not futzing with a screwdriver over-and-over trying to get them aligned. Did I mention I liked the all-metal construction? Only thing I found to fuss about is the the covers are spring-loaded to snap shut, but not to hold in full-open position, which makes plugging in a two-handed operation every time. This item was 'way beyond the quality I expected after buying stuff at HD and Lowe's. I highly recommend.
