I purchased this SEM 19423 Black Factory Pack Aerosol, 12 oz (Gm Wa8555) to paint some on my 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP and the paint matched very good. I used the SEM clear coat over it and it also looks good and seems to hold up well. It's not as good of a finish as I could have done with a spray gun but it was a lot easier to do for a small area.

Color matched perfectly with factory paint. Follow the instructions, take time for proper preparation and you end up with an excellent finish. I let the cans sit in a pail of hot water as well to help facilitate spraying. I even order d extra just to have on hand. Excellent product.

It’s been hard to find the paint for my truck, but this matched my trucks black colour seems like a good quality paint not done the patch yet but no complaints.

After a lot of prep I used it to paint all the original chrome parts for a blackout look.Primmer, this paint, then a 2K clear coat. After 6 months no problem so far. Matches the factory color perfectly.

I can't believe I wasted $27 on this. Pretty sure it's just black dye in carb cleaner. Goes on super thin and doesn't cure well. Had it in a temp controlled shop so I expected the random fuzz or bug but this stuff couldn't hide the marks of a microfiber cloth used to clean the surface. It cured terribly uneven and I had to break out the polish to get it to blend. Used another microfiber cloth to polish that also scuffed the cured paint.Used this whole can on one hitch cover (roughly a 10 inch by 2 foot area) after refinishing once due to scuffing from trying to cover a 440a wet sand fix that showed through.I would have rather wasted my money on a can of krylon black that was "close enough" and got a decent finish. At least then I would have an excuse for it not matching correctly. Better than looking like complete crap.UPDATE: after several coats of clear some of the smaller blemishes faded to almost not noticeable. However, the color is not even close to the U8555 on my escalade. It is a closer match to the 8555 I ordered by accident a few weeks back.

I was told that this would cover "no problem" on a new mirror housing if I prepped with a light abrasive pad and used their adhesion promoter. I wanted to use a primer, but they said since it was a new part- the promoter would be fine and this paint would cover. The marks from even a light scuff with a low-abrasive prep pad show through, even with several coats. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I had the clear on... The paint lays well etc. but I've never had three coats still show through light scuffs but I always used a regular primer.So- use with a primer and make sure it's perfect before color, because unlike what the SEM rep told me- this is super thin paint.

I had some periodic sputtering issues, but ultimately the paint job turned out okay. Paint was a good match to the factory color.Yes it had been shaken for almost 20 minutes and in-between coats. If it were a metallic, I would not be leaving a nice review..

This worked amazingly well for some pretty decent sized rust repair areas on my truck. I'm no professional body-repairman, just a little shade tree mechanic that likes to tinker on his own vehicles. The Onyx Black matched my Silverado very well, after making sure all my cans were warmed up in hot water and well shaken and sprayed on a clean surface I had no noticeable orange peel, and after some wet sanding, buffing and blending, you'd never know there was any repair work done. Combined with 2K gloss clearcoat, it does an amazing job. I am actually pretty amazed that you can get a quality job out of spray cans, but you indeed can. The entire cost for the assorted paints I needed during the repair for a pretty sizeable area was approx. $70 for the rust converter, etching primer, sealer primer, this SEM basecoat spray, and SprayMax 2K high gloss clearcoat.I paid less for the entire list of materials I used, right down to the paper towels I used, to do the work myself than what a body shop would of charged me just in paint surcharges to spray the areas they worked on. Save yourself a LOT of money, possibly thousands and do the repair work yourself. You don't need to be a trained mechanic or body-man. Watch some of the countless well-made and informative YouTube videos on the subject and before you know it, the job will be done, look great, and you'll of spent $150 instead of $2,500. You'll feel great because you did it yourself, and feel even better because you saved a whole lot of money.
