Was hoping to store my Sony 70-200mm safely when not in use. But upon opening the plastic for this case I was greeted with a somewhat toxic stench. The case seemed to have come straight from a manufacturer that most likely utilized low grade material or the environment itself being a factor. Regardless I left this thing to air out for over a day and still the scent remained. I tossed this, not worth my time to return. Will look into other brands, I believe JJC offers something comparable.

The lens case itself is great. I just WISH it didn't smell like cigarette smoke. I don't know what's going on, but I bought one and it smelled horrible! Made my camera bag smell like cigarette smoke and it took lots of effort to remove the smell. It's BAD! I decided to exchange it for another, so I got that process started and just today received the new one and it smells JUST AS BAD! This is completely unacceptable. It's very difficult for ME to write a negative review, but this is completely garbage. Nothing I've ever bought has ever had any smell like this. And it's a shame because I like the product. It's exactly what I wanted. But I absolutely can't justify keeping it if every time I open my camera bag, I get a giant cloud of cigarette smoke wash over me.

If you are looking for a case just for your lens then this is the one. However, if you have a hood and/or lens ring both have to be removed completely for your lens to fit in the case.

The quality of the case is fine. It did not come with foam padding like the others I purchased did. However, the photos do not show any padding, so I wasn't really surprised about that. The lens fits snugly in the case (diameter) but is a bit short for it. I'm have to pad it to protect it from rattling in there. The case smells like cigarette smoke on the inside, though. The others I purchased did not. I don't know if this was a used item passed off as new or the material is "funky" smelling. (Again, the other lens cases I purchased did NOT smell like this.) I didn't open this one until well past the point of being able to return it. I have sprayed it with sanitizer and it it sitting outside airing out. If the smell doesn't go away, I won't be able to use it. The product I purchased was listed as being new. It was supposed to come with a carabiner and cleaning wipe. It only had the carabiner, which leads me to believe it was falsely or erroneously sold as new. My bad for not opening it immediately. Since I had already received three other cases with no issues, I didn't see the urgency in opening this one. I won't make that mistake again on any product.

I like the size and depth of the case. The padding inside will protect my monocular.There is room for everything. I am already using it to safely store my monocular. The hand strap looks sturdy and makes it easy to carry the case.

I needed a semi-hard case for my Nikon 70-300mm telephoto lens for my D3400 SLR. Per the photos on the sales page, the 'medium/large' lens case could only hold a lens that was 4.72 inches long and my lens with rear cover, filter, and front cover attached is 6 inches long/. So, I went with the 'large' case. My telephoto lens definitely fits inside the large case (which is listed to accommodate a 9 inch lens), but the case is a little big for what I wanted. I put an old sock in the bottom so that my lens doesn't have so much room to move up and down. The inside of the case is lined with red felt, but there is no extra cushion, which would have been better. I guess I'll put my lens inside a sock as well to give it slightly more side cushion. I wish there was a case that was between the 'medium/large' and the 'large'.
