I run a small cabinet shop and just recently purchased this gun after somehow misplacing my dewalt 18 guage nailer that I’ve had for a decade. I was so happy with that fun over the years the I almost purchased another. The senco was a few dollars cheaper and arrived at the same time so I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve built an entire kitchen with it now, and let me tell you, I’m so glad I went with this one. I honestly didn’t think there could be that much of a difference, a gun is a gun after all. But the action of this nailer is so smooth and just feels so much better working with it. It’s hard to explain exactly what it is, but I enjoy using it with every nail. It’s senco so I expect it to last for years. Haven’t had a misfire yet. And the adjustable exhaust and hanger is awesome. One knock I would give is it will dry fire. Would’ve been nice to have that safety feature, but overall I’m very impressed with this gun.

Lots of power for something that is so light! The exhaust port is a great design. Again it packs a big punch. Minor adjustment for depth out of the box and it's setting goals nails into hard maple, mdf, poplar, no problem. Not anywhere close to its deepest setting.Drawbacks- the magazine slide is plastic. Was expecting that to be metal. For the price I was expecting to see no plastic. Also the belt hook gets in the way a lot. It's either set for use with your left hand or set for use with your right. Generally not a problem but a bit annoying when it does get in the way and digs into the heel of your hand.

Jammed the first time I tried it, using 2" nails. Cleared the jam and tried 1" and 5/8", both of which worked. Had to adjust depth to countersink a bit, but that is normal. Used 1" nails to reattach trim after replacing all material on screened in porch, probably ~100 nails, no problems, worked great. Used 5/8" nails to repair a table that 5-6 trim pieces had fallen off when dropped. Worked fine other than having to nail set a few that the depth gauge didn't work on. Then tried the 2" nails later on test boards and had to increase compressor pressure to about 120# but it worked great after that. No more jams. Using Hitachi nails on 5/8" and 1", and an unknown brand on the 2" (given to me). Lowe's didn't have anything less than 3,000 count Senco nails so that why I bought Hitachi. Manual says only use Senco but that can't be right. Or it's a legal thing to cover themselves.I like the feel and operation, smooth and solid. You do have to keep looking to see if the red indicator for low nail supply is showing or not. It will dry fire when out and mark the wood. Carrying case is nice, with space for a small pack or 2 of nails. Swivel air connect is nice for tight spots. Haven't used belt clip so right now it's in the way. Has to be rotated all the way to get gun to fit back into case. All minor things. Like it very much so far. Would buy again.

Gun works great . No jams and nails drive in all the time. Hook could be a little bit bigger, gun falls off sometimes from tool belt

Well, I just received my Senco Finish Pro 18Mg in the mail today, I've been anxiously awaiting it since I ordered it several days ago. I went with Amazon's free shipping and it took a few days, but it was worth saving the money to me. My previous finish gun, which I've been using for about 15 yrs, finally died and I've been without one for about two weeks, which is tough. I'm a professional kitchen and bath remodeler, and it's necessary for me to have, so I've been using my other guns or borrowing one while I wait.I'm the type of contractor who likes to buy the best quality tools for the job, I take a lot of pride in my work and having the best tools saves me time, makes me more efficient, and allows me to do the quality work that keeps my phone ringing with more jobs. I do a LOT of research before I make my purchases and this one was no exception. Many of the tool reviews you'll read on 18Ga brad nailers will tell you that just about all the better quality tool makers make a good one, and they will all fire the nails well. A brad nailer is a simple tool and they're kind of difficult to screw up. This has been my experience as well, so for me, it mostly comes down to the comfort and features the gun has. My 18Ga brad nailer is, by far, the nail gun that gets the most use, so having one that has the best features, makes a huge difference for me over the life of the tool. I compared the features of this tool with all the others on the market, and this one won out, so I ordered it.I was more than pleasantly surprised when I opened it to find out that it not only had all the features that I read about, but many more that I like, that weren't in the reviews I read, so I figured I'd add this review so that more discriminating tradesman like myself, would know. Another Contractor that I work with only uses Senco nailers, he's had only good experiences with them, so I already knew about their brand quality. This model, however, is an upgrade over the one he has, which I've used many times. It comes with a well thought out hard plastic case with places for the manual, wrenches, and some nails, a necessity for me. It is well designed and comfortable to hold, and the magnesium body makes it extremely lightweight, surprisingly so. It has nice no-mar plastic bumper that can be removed and stored on the back of the tool. It came with an extra one on the tool which I took off and stored in the ziplock bag with the manual. That way if I decide to remove mine while I'm working, I'll have a place on the tool to put it so it won't get lost on the job-site. The air exhaust is on the back of the tool, which I thought I might not like, but I see now that the exhaust port is on a very cleverly designed ring that can be directed anywhere I'd like, a nice touch. The belt hook is also adjustable so it can be rotated to the top or either side of the tool, very handy when working on a ladder. It has easy-to-operate tool-less jam clearing, a big time-saver on the job, and also tool-free depth adjusting and a nice switch for single fire or bump-fire. A nice touch, also, is the swiveling air connector that already came installed on the tool. Many nailers come without any. Another plus is that it'll fire brads from 5/8" all the way up to 2 1/8", many others stop at 2". I rarely use longer than 2" brads, but it's nice to know I can. The magazine release is simple to grab and easy to operate. It has an oil-free motor, so less maintenance and no oil spray on my woodwork. About the ONLY feature this tool doesn't have that I might like, is that it WILL fire when the magazine is empty (dry-fire), I checked. Might've been a nice feature to have, but I've not had it before, so I'm used to working without it. It does, however, have an easy-to-see indicator when the nails are out.Over-all, I'm extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to many years with this tool. Slightly sad to retire my old workhorse brad gun, but excited to work with this one......Now back to work.
