I used this with an under-sink style small tank water heater instead of the relief valve included with it. The included valve would not seal to the water heater, probably because one item was NPT thread and the other NPS and no gasket was supplied. This relief valve came with a gasket and sealed leak free although I'm not certain about whether NPT thread engagement or the o-ring actually made the seal.There's no indication about whether this is lead-free or not but because there is minimal contact with the water and only with hot water which is primarily used for washing rather than for consumption I' not concerned about this omission.Take note that this is not also a temperature relief valve. It does not advertise itself as such so this does not affect the star rating, but I am buying the required temperature and pressure relief valve to use instead of this for my small (2.5 gallons) water heater.

PROS:- Easy to install- Rubber o-ring for additional sealCONS:- No declaration that brass is lead freeI obtained this to reflect a defective relief valve that was letting through trickle of water. This was easy to install using just a set of adjustable pliers, and my issue was resolved.While this is slightly taller than a traditional lever-activated relief valve, it requires no additional clearance for activation as the lever style does, making this useful where clearance may be limited.I would have preferred a declaration that the brass used is lead free, but as of the time of this review, there is no information regarding that in either the product listing or included in or on the package.
