I got this case because I am wanting to store my machine in the bottom of the closet instead of it taking up a whole shelf in my linen closet. This isn't great for that. The only protection this gives is against dust and according to the details on the listing, it is also water resistant. It is nice that there is the spot on the back to secure it on top of a rolling bag.My full size Singer sewing machine fits in it just fine but you would think there would be some protective padding and maybe a hard bottom for support. There is a very thin layer of padding in the bottom that is all bunched up with no way of spreading it back out because it is between the layers. There is also a weird patched together seam that is bent pointing up on the bottom seam of the bag.My instinct is to give this a 3 star rating, however- at this time the bag is priced at $20 and that is a great value if you are only looking to carry your machine and are not needing a padded bag. There is also a zippered area on the front of the bag that is good sized.Shoulder strap not included. Only option is to hand carry.

My Brother XR-7700 came with a hard cover but there is really no space for the foot pedal, manual and larger platform. For years I just used hook and loop to hang the platform on the outside of the hard case and I managed to squeeze everything in under the cover but it was difficult. The machine with the hard cover on slips into the case snug. I use the front pocket for the manual and foot pedal and I don't have to worry about losing anything or it getting dusty.

I have a Singer 4432 and it fits in this case nicely. I knew when I bought this that it is not a sturdy sided protective carrying case so I'm very happy with it. There is enough room inside of the bag around my machine that some protective pads could be added, if needed, but I think I'd invest in a different type of bag if that's what you're looking for. This one has a good sized zipper pocket on the outside and a sleeve on the other side to slip over a rolling luggage handle - but I wouldn't feel comfortable using the bag, as is, in that situation. For my purposes and the inexpensive price, I have no complaints.
