Hooks are poorly designed, they have too much of a circle making it hard to thread gulp on and even harder to set the hook when a fish strikes. I thought maybe it was me with the hook set, but all my friends had the same problem setting the hook with this product. Will stick with your standard hook or basic circle hook in t the future.

I have caught allot of fish on these. Couple of issues. They seem to fray easier than the other ones. Have had a couple where the hook wasn't fully formed. Otherwise I would of gave it a higher rating. I would recommend these to be used where your worried about loosing an expensive setup.

As I said this is basically a supersized Chesapeake sabiki, which is exactly what I was looking for. White perch had been hitting my sabiki rigs when trying to catch spot for bait, Rockfish (that's what we call migratory stripped bass in the Chesapeake Bay) behave similar to white perch but on a larger scale. This rig is definitely the right size hook and right weight line for keeper (20"+ ) Rockfish and the hooks are a kinda modified point non-offset circle hook which is what Maryland regulations require for use with live or cut bait or chumming in the bay. Only reason I haven't given 5 stars is the packaging. They tangle on the way out but given the price point I guess they weren't going to pack it like a traditional sabiki. I would recommend one of those foam boards to put some on so they straighten out because the main line and leaders have alot of memory. If I buy more it will just be for a color switch up because this is basically like a yr supply.

I use this rigs to fish for rockfish and lincods. It's well built, What I like about this type of hooks they don't snag on the rocks. I used pline Riggs previously When I Hooked a decent sized fish the pline would snap. Never had any problems with this rig.

Why tie your own rigs when you can get these for about a buck each. I use these for summer fluke, sea bass, and porgy fishing off Montauk. The rigs hold up to the toughest fishing condition and I’ve yet had one fail on me.

These are mis-labeled - If they sold them as rock cod rigs, they'd sell 10x as many of them, I am sure! I stumbled across these while searching for actual sabiki (bait-catching) rigs, and figured I'd give them a try. Boy am I glad I did!!! For this price, I will never hand-tie another double dropper loop again! We fish the central coast and northern Channel Islands of California, and these are GREAT for bottom fishing - I have used them with both squid strips and live bait and have done well. The circle hooks are great, especially for ling cod - you don't have to worry about "setting" the hook - just wait patiently after you feel the first tug and let the ling swallow the whole bait... then when you feel a bit more tugging, slowly wind him up.With regular mustad type bait hooks, I usually have to run a "stinger" treble hook to make sure I don't lose ling cod - but with these rigs, my catch rate is 100% so far. (though I've only used them on 2 trips at this point).I don't know if it is coincidence, but they also seem to catch bigger fish (though not always) than my buddies fishing the same spots and the same time with the same bait, but unfeathered double dropper loops. The hooks are plenty strong for rockfish and ling cod, but I don't think the hooks would stand up to an accidental yellowtail or white seabass (as has happened to me a few times before!).I also like the fact that there is just a loop at the bottom for attaching your weight - easier than dealing with a snap swivel, especially with cold, wet hands!
