Deburring cutters are hand tools used to remove sharp edges and small unwanted bumps, also known as burrs, from material. The cutter typically consists of two pieces: a handle and a blade. The handle holds a blade that is typically made from high-speed steel, carbide, or ceramic, and may have a coating to extend its life or for work on tougher materials. The blades have different designs for deburring in a range of applications, such as straight edges, hole edges, through-holes, slots, and corners. A blade holder can be connected to a handle to hold the blade for long-reach work.

Vargus manufactures cutting, grooving and deburring tools under the Vardex, Groovex, and SHAVIV brand names. The company, founded in 1960 and headquartered in Nahariya, Israel, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001:2000.

Instantly broke and blades would not stay in. Junk because it's all plastic. Amazon refunded me though.

I used to use a metal handled "pencil handle" reamer which worked the same way at a workplace for reaming EMT quickly and easily. Since then I've used rounded files (takes longer but works fine) and a dremel (quick but wears the grinding bit quickly, too). This is just fine for the occasional use I give it. If I used one every day, I'd probably buy a metal handle one, but for infrequent (couple times of month) use, this is just fine.

Drilling aluminum extension ladder for mounting holes for a ladder leveler install. This did debur ok. Cannot speak to the long term durability of the blade edge.

This de-burring tool works fine but I was just a bit disappointed by it's overall effectiveness in de-burring the circular lightening holes cut in the .025" thick sheet aluminum parts I'm fabricating. I found that with a newly cut edge (cleanly cut without any little rough spots at all) that it will take that remaining sharp edge right off without difficulty. But my lightening holes, having been made with a fly cutter on my drill press, come out with little burrs here and there which this tool has difficulty taking off. No big deal really, I like the tool. Excellent value for the money.

Its a simple but nice design. I have used it to deburr metal and even plastic. It works well on inside arcs but with a swivel head, it can be a little hard to do outside edges. This is not a fault of the item... I like the swivel head... but it is something to think about if you have a lot of concave edges you need to clean up.
