All of the wires with tracers I ordered were very difficult or impossible to the the tracer color against a black background. In all cases the tracer is much too small to be easily seen. So if you want a red tracer use red with a black tracer. Then you can easily see the difference. In some cases the tracer is about a 1/16 or 3/32 of an inch wide and if it is against a black wire it is going to be difficult to see in low lights.

I was initially very excited to find an Amazon source for multiple combinations of striped hook-up wire, and I ordered 20 rolls of assorted combinations, but upon arrival, I was SORELY DISAPPOINTED in the quality of the striping. Stripes were very narrow and hard to see, and the stripes on some were actually smeared, and others the white stripe actually began flaking off.I had previously ordered similar products from that "Bay" store, and that striped wire came as PREMIUM quality.I had planned on additional orders from this Amazon seller, but I am switching to the "Bay" seller.

When i opened the package i thought they has sent me a solid color wire. After looking really close you can make out a very faint thin line.Dont get the blue/ purple stripe combination.
