If you think you might need this, you do. Installs easy and no more exhaust fumes and heat coming through the shift boot. If you’re doing this go ahead and order a shifter rebuild kit while you’re at it. Made my car shift like brand new

Installed this in my 1990 Miata to replace the damaged boot on the old one. I guess after 30+ years it finally wore out. Had the small difficulty of seating the shifter portion but used a short piece of pvc pipe and tapped in into position without any other issues. Looks to be good quality.

Part fit my 2000 Miata perfectly. Easy install. Will be nice to keep out the heat in the summer months, original boot was trashed.

Fit as expected. Yes the new plastic piece was a bit tight going over the shifter but I applied a very light film of lube and it slid right on.

This boot worked fine. The white plastic ring that goes over the shift lever was just a tiny bit smaller than the factory one causing a very tight fit. I just used the old factory ring and everything went fine.
