The Saint M820 Disc Brakes may be the unsung heroes of Shimano's pro-proven DH groupset, having enjoyed success on the world stage since the prototype stage. In fact, Shimano's initial unveiling of the group was delayed slightly so the Japanese company could continue refining it according to the feedback from elite racers, and the result is a shorter Servo Wave arm that modulates better than its punchier predecessor, feeling more like the XTR lever and allowing for more finesse while tempering speed to ensure you carry precisely as much momentum into techy corners and rock gardens as you want. For some, the Saint brake's key difference with the less expensive Zee — tool-free lever adjustment — is an unnecessary luxury; however, for everyone from pro downhillers to aggressive freeriders across the world, the ability to quickly dial stopping power is priceless. The brakes are finished with one-way bleeding for ease of servicing and ship with a reinforced brake hose that resists deforming to keep the brake feeling consistent throughout the run. The included brake levers are I-Spec B compatible.

As you’d expect with a brake of this caliber these have tremendous stopping power. Paired up with a 203mm rotor up from and a180mm out back. These also setup and bled really easily.

My reference point to this is from a 2 pot deore front brake. It took a while to break in the pads, and after a few rides I think i get about 30% ish more stopping power than the 2 pot deore's. It does have better modulation and so far I have not found a hill where this brake struggles to maintain control and the ability to stop.

These feel different from the XT 4-pistons on my other bike in that the lever travels more and doesn't become hard so quickly. That travel gives you a good feel of the brakes. When you want to lock the wheel just pull harder and under any condition they will stop. I have not felt any fade.
