Your cart is empty.We know that SLX is still technically considered Shimano's workhorse mountain drivetrain, efficient and affordable. It's never been known as the sexiest or lightest groupset, but has filled its niche admirably up until now. After the overhaul Shimano introduced this year, however, we're not how to refer to it anymore. SLX still technically sits beneath XTR and XT, but after receiving a host of trickle-down technology and an impressive makeover, the groupset has significantly raised the bar of what "workhorse" means. Shimano didn't leave any part of the groupset untouched, and as such, the SLX M7000 1x Chainring received its own host of exciting modifications to interact expertly with the new 1x11 SLX Crankset. Now featuring the same Dynamic Chain Engagement (DCE) tooth profile as its XTR and XT chainring siblings, the 1x Chainring boasts dramatically better chain retention than its predecessors. The teeth grab onto your chain fiercely, but do so without dragging you down, and their stainless steel construction offers improved durability and longevity befitting of their Shimano pedigree.

I have an SLX drivetrain on my Surly ... Its a 1x11 and I think this chainring is my only option because of the bullsh_t Shimano propietary BCD spacing on the cranks. Luckily, Krampus likes it so it’s all good. I’ve got around 500 miles on it so far, so I cannot comment on durability.

Surprisingly eccentric. Using this on a single speed bike and the chain tension goes from overly tight to over loose with every turn of the pedals. And I have checked my cranks both with a dial indicator mounted to the frame and with a higher-quality chainring and the eccentricity issues definitely in this ring itself.

I'm sure the chainring is just fine, but I ordered the wrong one. The product description simply said 1x, one chainring. It didn't mention that it was for 1x11 chainring and cassette. My bike is a 1x12. This one will not work on my bike. I wish that the product description was more specific.

It’s a 30tooth chain ring. It does what it says on the box. Fits up nicely to Shimano XT cranks. Make sure that you have a star pattern Allen key to tighten the bolts though.

It works just as described, easy install on my 1x11 crankset and after a few weeks is doing pretty well. I really like Shimano SLX stuff, good value!

Works with my single speed chain (1/2 -1/8) on my bike polo bike. At least it does after 6 hours, I'll update the review as i gather more data.
