I actually used these for a different purpose -- I mounted cameras on them using the pole mount that came with them and secured them to a concrete wall. Very sold

I ordered this to use not in a shower or tub, but in an area between our kitchen and family room where there is a step into a lower level. We installed this bar vertically at the entry into the family room where it works for individuals of varying height. The step is substantially high and as we have aged it has become increasingly difficult to climb both up and down without some support. This bar works perfectly for me at 5'2" and for my husband who is 6'6". So glad to have this bar in place. It's sturdy, stable, and very useful to us, especially me since I am recovering from a broken ankle.

The grab bar finish and feel is very good, but the little tabs that secure the caps over the screw plates did not engage reliably. Gravity seemed to hold the lower cap in place, but the upper cap would periodically come loose and slip down to the bottom. I would slide it to the top and rotate it to lock it in place, but it would come loose again after a few days.I finally solved it by adding some silicone caulk to the tabs, put the upper cap back in place and waited for the whole works to dry for a couple of days. Upper cap has remained in place for a few months, but it would have been nice if it had been secure without me having to figure out how to make it work.
