Like most of the other reviewers, I found some of the features good but others were so so. I bought this for home use for the grandkids and it sure beats a book on the head and a pencil on the wall.

I'm not sure how to feel about this unit. For the moment, it works fine. The main stem is hollow metal but thick, and I expect it to last without any problems. The base and top, however, are plastic and don't seem very durable. The sliding cap unit is held in place by friction; simply move it down to the top of the head and look to the numbers to see the height. I'm concerned that the friction may ease in time and it may become loose and not hold to the bar.The bigger problem is the numbers. Some of them are already missing, either rubbed off during packaging or never properly affixed. And the friction motion off the cap unit is likely to exacerbate that. Additionally, the markings don't really make sense. Above the line is the number of inches. On the photo, I've shown 66 inches. Belle the line it says 5'50", which we would read as five feet, fifty inches. The 50", however, is a percentage. How far to the next foot. So 67 inches is marked 5'58", 68 inches is marked 5'67", etc.For a limited use at a fair or school event, this would be fine. It's not commercial quality, and it's pretty big and expensive for home use, so it seems to be either a little too much, or too little.I will say that the markings are accurate and it doesn't really look cheap. So again, if you don't plan on using it regularly in a commercial setting (i.e. medical office), it will probably meet your needs quite well.
