I had to put this on a dimmer switch to get the thing to stop melting itself.

Used on tractor oil pan and helped with cold starts this winter. Performed as expected. Seemed to be plenty of heat.

This was as expected. It does run hot though I think. It runs up to 245F before the the internal thermostat kicks it off. It then it drops to 170F before activating again.I did have a had time with it sticking though. In fact I could not get it to stick at all and had to tape it in place. It was however -20F while I was trying to install it so not really going to ding to too bad there. If you need to really throw some heat to something this will do and safe you a little money. I am using it to heat the motor of my work car. I don't think that its a good permanent fix but it works in a pinch.
