We have needed safety for our gas stove for a while. I haven’t cared for those bulky plastic covers that go over the knob style. These silicone stove knob safety locks are perfect for us. Our four year old son has learned to stay away from the stove, but he may go in there some time in the future and decide to investigate. We also have two cats that have gotten on the stove and have activated the gas and igniter. I’d really hate for that to happen while we weren’t home or while we sleep. I feel much safer having these on the gas knobs. I have mobility issues and can’t stand very well so I have to use an office chair in the kitchen. I have accidentally activated the gas stove by rolling my chair to close to the stove on many occasions. I am happy to say that no longer happens with having these silicone gas knob safety locks. I have rolled my chair into the stove several times after I installed these safety locks and I am pleased to say the stove remains turned off.I installed these easily by removing the knobs and placing these safety locks on the shaft then replaced the knob. I did have to install these safety locks locks so they slide upwards to lock because if they’re installed to be slid downwards they would partially block the oven door. That wasn’t enough to interfere with the operation of the oven, but I didn’t like how the locks looked when they hung down. I did try having the safety locks horizontal, but I didn’t like how they looked horizontal either. They come as a six pack, I only have five burners so I have one left over. For the people with fix burners you will have one for each burner without having to purchase additional. For just about $3 each you can have safety locks for your gas stove. It would be nice if there was an option if you could choose how many you got so you don’t have extra locks or not have enough.Overall I am happy with these silicone gas knob safety locks.

I couldn't quite get these to work, but I do appreciate the concept. I have the correct knob clearance for these, but I found them either getting stuck in place with the silicone when I did want to use the burner, or moving with the handle when I didn't want to - and no one in my household could get on the same page about keeping them in the right position. Like other reviewers, I got to the "I'm just going to take the knob off" point with them. We have a toddler who is getting more interested in the stove, and beyond that we are constantly bumping into the handles and accidentally turning them on. At the end of the day, these protectors do help to an extent, but if you really have concerns about the stove being accidentally turned on, nothing that feels as 100% secure as just removing the knobs.

These are great, they look nice. My elderly mother has dementia, and this helps to keep her from turning on the stove.

If you have children or old people in your home with you then I suggest having these. Even if you have a big butt and accidently and unknowingly turn on your gas stove.

I ordered these in hopes of preventing my 1yo from turning on my oven without my knowledge. He’s been very interested in the knobs lately and I have been worried about him turning on the stove when we aren’t looking. These work as described and are easy to install. They will keep your little one from being able to turn on the oven/stove as long as he/she isn’t old enough to figure out how to take the knobs off the stove. That said, it is very annoying that I have to take the knobs off the stove and remove these in order to use my stove. I cannot turn any knobs with these in place. They are made with one side thinner than the other with the idea that you should be able to turn them or pull them out a bit and use your stove, but it does not work on mine.I learned after ordering these and doing more research that my oven had a lock feature to protect from accidentally turning it on, so I have been using that instead and will be returning these locks.

I recently adopted a new kitten who likes to jump on the gas stove . He accidentally turned the gas on the other night and scared me to death. This is exactly what I needed. It’s a 5 pack set is silicone Stove Knob Safety Locks for Gas Stoves Knob Covers. They are child safe and pet safe. There were no instructions on how to put them on. I’m assuming they’re on the right way because the knobs won’t move. The design works perfect and fits great on my stove. They are made from a very durable silicone material. Once they are in place, the knobs can’t move without actually removing them. This very affordable six pack of knob locks is definitely a life saver. Now I can go to sleep in peace at night knowing my kitten is not going to be able to turn the gas on.

I have a kitchenaid standalone range. These seemed to fit OK, but because they're silicone and the push down distance to begin turning the gas control knob is very minimal, they didn't stop the knobs from being depressed enough to turn and actuate, in the "locked" position. You have to slide the silicone to move between the "locked" or "unlocked" position. Sometimes the silicone is hard to slide because, well, it's silicone and grips the stovetop. So in that case you remove the knob, slide it, then replace the knob. So that got me thinking. If you want to childproof the gas knobs... why not just remove all the knobs until you need them?
