I have a yard full of Cypress knees and I have really really really enjoyed cutting them out of the ground with my my root saw from these people. However the last couple of weeks it's gotten harder and harder to saw through the root. I really think I need a new blade. It's a shame that it has only lasted a year. But other than that I have loved my saw. If I can help it no electricity for me! Replacement blades seem to be very expensive here on Amazon so I'm not sure what I'm going to do perhaps they will respond to me and give me a deal of a lifetime.

This is my third one of these over use of many years. It’s sharp easy to use, but unfortunately it can’t be sharpened. I will always have this in my gardening bucket with all of my other favorite tools.

Nice knife for the price. Only thing nicer would be if the blade was a little thicker but for the price I would definitely recommend.

Tree roots broke one of my underground irrigation PVC pipes. Once I started digging there were roots everywhere. It soon became clear that I could not get to the broken pipe without cutting through several layers of roots. Making it even more difficult, it is in a very confined space next to a concrete wall with roots right up to the concrete underground and there were several other PVC pipes right next to the broken one that I do not want to accidentally cut. Two weeks had passed and I made very little progress. Then I bought this Silky root-cutting saw. Within days I cut all the roots I needed to cut without cutting the other pipes nearby and fixed the broken pipe. Most roots were about 3" in diameter but the main one was 5". Silky saw had no problem cutting them all and in most cases with little space to work with. I am very impressed with the saw.

Where do I start? Oh yeah, with the poor little oak sapling that was encroaching on my fence. When I unsheathed this Silky beast, I swear I saw the leaves tremble in fear ( either that or it was a stiff breeze brought on by the cold front heading through SC). So, I attacked the HUGE 1" beast and was amazed that after one pull it sliced through the trunk like a PO'd beaver. On to a MASSIVE 3" sweet gum and only 5 strokes to unleash the damage that this aggressive saw is said to have. All kidding aside, this is an awesome saw and now that I have used it to clear small trees all weekend, I couldn't speak more highly of it. I even cut through an ol cedar post, and even though it took more than a few strokes, it still cut faster than my aggressive tooth hand saw. The kind that old timers used to build houses in the 50's, only newer. If you're debating buying this because of the price, throw caution to the wind, don't tell the wife, and do it. You will be glad you did.

On a volunteering event, I was introduced to this saw. I could only borrow it; even though after several uses, I wanted to take it home. I used the Silky Gomtaro for tree trimming at a park. The guy that recommended this particular brand to me, was working in the Tree Trimming department at our company. They have to trim trees year round. I refuse to buy an $8.00 handsaw when someone can purchase one of these....believe me, this will be the last you buy. Even though it's a bit more expensive, it is worth the quality of this saw. Not to mention, when trimming my own trees, I didn't have to work as hard as I would have with the cheap hand saw. The Silky, and I am sure ALL Silky saws cut like this one does. This is a decent size saw for taking down small to medium branches. I have had no issues, and I can attach it to my belt and climb with it without worrying about cutting myself. I recommend this saw to anyone.
