These pellets were fairly rough when I received them so I ran them for a couple of days by themselves with coarse grit. It took most of the rough edges off and after a good rinse they have been fine since. They do wear a little but I anticipate many more uses before needing to replace them.

I think the ceramic pellets are a bit to large.
