Some reviews said it didn't fit or had to be slightly modified. For me it went in easier than getting the old one out. And it is great no longer getting burned like with the old incandescent bulb.

With some careful filing of the high points, I was able to fit the bulb into the socket. It is bright, which is good, but I won't know it's worth until I have used it - just got it.

This bulb works great in my Singer Featherweight 221 machine. It doesn't get hot like the old bulbs and it's much brighter.

A little bit tricky installing the bulb as the overall shape is not the same. Wished my hands were a little smaller to finagit into the tight spot but I got it after a bit… the original bulb was super hot and I had singed the back of my hand on it several times when working on a bulky project so this cooler operating LCD bulb is a welcome find. Gives plenty of illumination too.

I got this to use as a replacement bulb in my Singer Featherweight 221 sewing machine. It replaced the incandescent light that would get super hot and a huge energy suck. I recently got a Singer 201K and with an adapter my husband got for me was able to use this for that machine too. There are 4 lights that came in the box and happy to have a few spares. Gives off nice clear light and makes it easy to see what you are sewing and is small so it stays tucked inside the light fixture. Highly recommend.

Importantly, it works and provides improved light.But... This might deter some buyers: I had to use a file to flatten the 'contact bumps' on the base before it would 'twist and lock' into position in the socket on my Singer Featherweight. The two solder contact pads on the base were much higher than those on the incandescent bulb I was replacing. I thought that was the reason why I could not turn the bulb into the locked position. So I used a flat file to remove some of the top of the solder blobs that are the electrical contacts. I reduced the height of those contact pads until they were just a bit taller than the ones on the original bulb. After that, the new bulb was able to 'twist and lock' into the socket. It actually was a simple modification and the LED bulb works fine now.
