About this item

  • Tiniest and Lightest Carbon Fiber FF Lens: This 1.6x anamorphic lens is well-designed with spherical elements and carbon fiber construction to eliminate chromatic aberration and reduce overall lens size and weight, making it the lightest and tiniest SIRUI 35mm 1.6x full-frame anamorphic lens in the market.
  • Overhead and Gimbal Shots: Lens in such a small form factor can be used on handheld stabilizers, FPV drones and vehicle rigs to gain unique perspectives that are previously unattainable, helping you to capture in even tight spaces or from interesting angles or to create stunning overhead shots
  • Premium 1.6x Squeeze Factor: This anamorphic is equivalent to the horizontal FOV of a 22mm FF spherical lens. This premium squeeze factor offers 2.4:1 aspect ratio images when using a 3:2 sensor mode and achieves an even wider 2.8:1 frame when shooting at a 16:9 mode, offering a wider angle of view and featuring the key to the wide-screen cinematic world.
  • Stunning Anamorphic Look: The incredible squeeze factor offers cinematographers more noticeable cinematic effects as sci-fi lens flare and creamy oval bokeh, adding a stylistic cinematic feel to your scenes. Two distinctive aesthetic flare types are optional for purchase. Classic blue flare provide a sci-fi, cool vide for professional films; Natural flare adds soft and creamy ambiance, suitable for commercial, general, and warm shots.

  • This phenomenon also known as the jello effect appears when the camera is vibrating. It is recommended to lower the mechanical image stabilization in camera setting.

  • All anamorphic lenses exhibit distortion, which is a characteristic of certain optics. Compared to barrel distortion, the pincushion is easier to address in post-editing.

  • The intensity of lens flares is deeply affected by the filming operation and light source. It can be controlled by filmmakers to an expected outcome.

  • All anamorphic lenses present focus breath to a certain extent. SIRUI Optical design has minimized the focus breath of its anamorphic lens to a superior level among its peers.

  • The Saturn series lenses feature with 1.6X squeeze ratio. For filmmaker who want more striking cinematic effect, we would recommend you to purchase SIRUI Venus series lens and SIRUI 1.25X anamorphic adapter to get a 2X super wide cinema scope.

i would give it 5 star , but when i tried to mount it on BMCC MFT camera, it was very stiff to connect.i sent mail to Sirui, with video and explenation , wait for solution, i will update when i have one.I wrote SIRUI support, and they assisted me very quickly , they sent me a new adaptor with screws and evena scewdriver. i replced it and now it is not stiff , and works great.very good customer support.

Not sure what the buzz is for this lens but, this is impossible to pull focus you are just playing a guessing game with this nothing will ever be sharp unless you measure the distance and get a perfect pull. Also the distortion is massive nothing in post you can do to fix it the heads will look abnormal and you will have to keep the subject pretty much dead center and hope you get it in focus. You want anamorphic it will cost you and no cheap solution will produce those Hollywood results don’t buy into the hype and save your money!

These lenses performed as advertised. They are great lenses although the squeeze is not standard. It is easy enough to make the footage fit a standard crop if you filmed correctly. First install was extremely tight on my fx3.

I needed these lenses for a shoot coming up and somehow the first shipment was messed up by the carrier and Sirui worked with me all the way on a daily basis to get me replacements on time. I trust them and hope that they will offer more anamorphic lenses in the near future. Geoff

This has very quickly become my favorite lens. It's a tiny soft when you're shooting with it wide open, but otherwise it'a very sharp, delivers a clean, beautiful image, flares super nicely, and has very clean bokek! It makes me want to get the other lenses in the set!

Spendendo 1.500 euro?

For those of us who are passionate about anamorphic lenses and the cinematic quality they bring to footage, the SIRUI Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X Anamorphic Lens for Sony EF is a piece of equipment that's hard to overlook, despite its steep price. The 1.6x squeeze factor of this lens is a technical marvel. When shooting 4K footage, you get a resolution of 3840x1350, which is not standard. But here's the magic: it gives you the horizontal field of view equivalent to a full-frame 22mm lens. This means that while your footage has the characteristic anamorphic compression, you're not losing the wide-angle perspective that's essential for grand, cinematic shots.Size-wise, this lens is impressively compact, especially when compared to its larger Sirui siblings. It's almost hard to believe when you see it side by side with, say, the 50mm (as shown in the picture). This makes it an incredibly portable option for filmmakers who are always on the move. The oval bokeh produced by this lens is nothing short of lovely, adding that sought-after, dreamy, cinematic look to your background elements. And let's talk about the lens flares – they're the crispy blue that anamorphic lenses are famous for. However, they can be quite pronounced, which might not be to everyone's taste. For those who find the effect too intense, I'd recommend pairing this lens with a Black Mist/Fog filter to soften the sharpness and tame the flares a bit.Regarding the aperture, a T2.9 on this lens is roughly equivalent to an f/2.8 in terms of light-gathering capability. It's a common misconception that T-stops and f-stops are interchangeable, but T-stops actually measure the actual light transmission, which is more accurate for cinematography. In conclusion, if you're looking to bring that anamorphic charm to your footage without lugging around a massive lens, the SIRUI Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X is an excellent choice. Yes, it's an investment, but for the quality and cinematic flair it adds to your work, it's an investment worth considering. Highly recommended for the anamorphic aficionado!

Sirui lens is compact, Sturdy and well built. It is comparably heavier than my Rokinon cinelens of the same size.I like the picture quality that I get after de-squeezing it in post.

It is hard to describe what I'm feeling after using this lens for some time. Probably expected more than I get, so a bit disappointed with it. It is a good lens for M4/3, decently sharp and feels nice in hands. But anamorphic effect is so negligible... 1.33x format is just not enough, especially on close focusing distances, oval bokeh is nonexistent. It has blue strikes, but in most cases they're just annoying, especially for nature daylight shots. This lens just looks like any other lens, nothing special.

I purchased this lens for a different perspective for landscape stills with a Canon M6 Mk2. I am still experimenting and evaluating but so far I am impressed with color rendering and sharpness. It is not "razor" sharp but then it is not intended to be. It just has a nice even consistency across the frame. Think of a Zeiss lens "pop" with a matte finish.I would knock off a half a star for the mount replacement which is another issue.

Anamorphic lenses have always been a dream of mine to shoot with and when Sirui released their 50mm I had to get it and was impressed with that lens all round. Now we have the 35mm and its just fantastic as I can shoot wider shots with amazing characteristics. Being 1.33x should not put people off as you get the blue flares and the bokeh is really nice (there are mods if you want to get that perfect oval look)The big surprise with this lens is how sharp it is at F1.8 just like the 50mm.I have MFT cameras so this really helps to add a dimension to shots and I have ordered the 24mm to add to the collection. If Sirui make a wider lens then 24 then that will be perfect to get truly scopic shots all the way.I will say that you need a camerea/monitor that can de-squeeze the image as well as the right software if you're just a beginner but many editing programmes de-squeeze easily. If you're a photographer this lens will add a unique look to your photos just like the great Dick Sweeney has done, and if you want to create videos with a cinema look and can get only one anamorphic lens stick with the 35mm.Top notch lens all the way and Sirui have set the bar high and I am sure more anamorphic lenses will hit the market.
