The good: Makes a huge difference in ride quality. OE electric shocks apparently got stuck in stiff mode. When rear hit any bump it was like there were no shocks at all and the ride was as if there were no springs either. These shocks restored the car's 'touring' ride quality, even over speed bumps and rough roads. In this respect they are 5 star quality.The bad: One shock had defective mounting bolts that snapped off with slight tightening. Worse, a tap in what was left broke the welds holding the bolts in place. The other shock was fine. Used strong bolts and nuts, from a local source, instead. There were no instructions in the boxes, but the removal and installation is straight forward. The nuts on the 'good' shock mounting bolts did not fit properly, so used the OE nuts, which did fit properly. Because of poor quality mounting hardware it is a 1 or 2 star item. Just installed, so have no idea how well they will hold up.As long as you are somewhat handy, and can deal with the poor quality mounting hardware I recommend these to make your Mark VIII ride comfortably again
