the gun does not work, it does not reach the temperature and the cofix comes out of the base

Works wonderfully! DefinitelyNeeds a few minutes to warm up, but once it is the p-Tex flows easily. The flat tip is perfect for smoothing out the p-Tex and getting it to mix with the existing p-Tex. Highly recommend using wax remover first as wax will interrupt the adhesion of the new to the old P-Tex.

Good product. Had to order twice because the first order, the packaging came clearly opened and so did the second one. I needed the ptex gun so I just kept the second one.

I bought this based on a recommendation, in part because it is supposed to heat up the P-Tex to a higher temperature and make for longer lasting repairs. Like other reviewers, I found it very difficult to use as it doesn't come out when you expect it to and ended up with a much thicker glob on the base than I wanted. I used their recommended P-Tex and found it almost impossible to scrape smooth because it never cooled to a solid consistency, elastic still after even two days! Most times the material pulled back out before I could get it smooth. Spent hours and most of the time had to start all over and try again. Thought maybe I wasn't preparing the surface well enough, but switched to my old method with different P-Tex and had no issues.Complete waste of my money and I waited too long to use it to expect a refund.

Works well. Much better application of PTEX than open flame drip. Also, much safer than getting burns from hot plastic. It does work better on shallow indentations on the ski base. Dripping PTEX on those shallow areas usually does not work. This product allows for better bonding of the PTEX because you can press it into the depression with heat. However, it would be really great if the tool accepted different diameters of PTEX sticks. You cannot always get the correct diameter for the tool.

I was really excited to use this repair tool when it arrived. Unfortunately though it does not work well at all. Even after waiting the prescribed 20 minutes to let it warm up (which seems like a ridiculously long time) it was troublesome to apply the honey like mess that came out the other end. I finally found the best technique was to hover over the gash on the board, drip some in and then spread and press it using the tip.I used this gun on a variety of repairs on a board that needed a bit of work. Everything from small and in the center to fairly significant and close to the edges. Out of the dozen or so patches I did only 1 actually held in place through scraping.Guess I'll stick to using solder tools to work on boards as this gun is more trouble than ease and at nearly $100 I immediately requested a refund.
