Side and base edge bevel multi tool that includes a file. This one tool is all you need to sharpen and bevel your edges. Dial a precise angle from 0 degree to 5 degrees in 0.5 degree increments. It is recommended that you set the edge bevels with the file and then replace the file with 70-mm diamond stones to maintain the sharpness; if you always use the metal file, you will wear away the edge. The blue DMT or Red/Yellow Moonflex is a good choice, add the whole set if you are a racer. Bonus Benefit for this tool: If you don't know what base and side angles your ski/board are set to, this tool can help you find them. Before you start mark the metal edge with a sharpie, start the tool at the lowest angle and see if it removes the marking on your edge. Raise the angle step-wise and repeat until it removes the mark. That is your angle! Record the base/side angles for future reference. Detailed edge tuning instructions are located under Tuning Tips in the top menu. There are two ways to determine the cutting direction for the metal file in the tool: (a) you can run the back of your fingernail across the file. Your fingernail will run smoothly one way and the other way (the cutting direction) will produce small shavings from your fingernail on the file; or, (b) look closely at the file with a magnifying glass. You will see that the file teeth point in only one direction. You pull the file in the direction that will cause the most friction against the ski edge (the cutting direction).

Works great. I was looking for a tool that does both side and base bevel… because it’s the same idea and so many of them don’t do base bevel. Nice value, small enough to toss in your bag.

This is a handy little unit. I use it primarily with a diamond stone to touch up edges from the inevitable rock dings and burrs after a day skiing. It replaced my old shopworn one and thankfully the design and quality is the same, and I believe the supplied file is actually better. Angle accuracy is reasonable for plastic construction, and it’s easy to use and even carry in a pocket.

Too expensive for a mediocre plastic quality. First ridge on flat base is not flat, but dipped due to plastic shrinking in mold when cooling. Overall it’s working and manageable to do the job. Can be used for personal touch ups once or twice per season on your own skis. The right price should be around $25 max.

After seeing this edge tuning tool in action on YouTube, I did a quick search and found Utah Ski selling this on Amazon. For what it is, I think it's going to give me years of snowboard edge tuning service. Very glad they carry this tool. As for the seller, a hand written thank you is really nice. A thank you back at ya Utah Ski!

I used a sharpener like this for 30 years! It is the only one that does 2.5 degree edges. The race guys poo poo this. But I love it and was very mad when my son dropped and broke it. I will buy another. I’m not happy with the replacement he got me.

A lot less expensive than going to a ski shop to do your ski edge tuning! Pays for itself in one ski tune at a ski shop.

I used this with my other ski tuning tools to make a nice edge. Very it is easy to hold on to and it locks the file in unlike other file tools.
