When selecting a fender consider wheel size
Fenders sizes are determined by wheel and tire size. It is important to know your wheel size and tire width when selecting a fender. Your wheel size can be found on your tire wall. Road bikes and urban bikes with narrower tires are normally called 700c or can be referred to as 28". Mountain bikes are typically 29" (29er) or 27.5" or 26". Smaller wheels are 20" or 24".

Fenders sizes are determined by wheel and tire size. It is important to know your wheel size and tire width when selecting a fender. A rule of thumb is that the fender profile needs to be at least 5mm wider than the tire. Your tire width can be found on your tire wall. SKS Germany fender profile widths are in the name of the fender (example B55 is 55mm wide).
When selecting a fender consider Bluemels are bolt-on fenders
It is important to know that Bluemels fenders are a bolt on fender. Once placed on the bicycle, they are not easily or quickly removed. Bolt on fenders offer more coverage as they can be longer, and they offer more stability as they affix to the frame with bolts. Quickrelease fenders are available, but are a completely different setup than bolt on fenders.
Consider fender profile width vs frame spacing
It may always seem better to go with a wider fender profile because it would offer more spray coverage, but the fender profile must fit through the frame. Before selecting a fender, make sure the fender profile width is not wider than the distance between your seat stays or your fork legs. In the example in this photo, the fender profile must fit through the fork legs of the bicycle.
Mounting Bluemels Fenders
Mounting Eyelets for Bluemels Fenders
Mounting eyelets or frame/fork mounting clamps are required for installation of Bluemels and Bluemels STYLE Fenders. If you do not have mounting eyelets on your bike, frame mounting clamps can be purchased separately so that the fenders can be mounted on the bicycle frame.
Fender Stays (Metal Stays)
Bluemels Fenders have metal stays as a part of the fender mounting setup. These stays may need to be shortened for the fenders to fit properly on the bicycle. If the stays need to be shortened, you will need a hacksaw or bolt cutters to shorten the stays.
Tools and Hardware for Mounting
All hardware you will need to mount your Bluemels Fender is included.
You will need to provide a 7 and 8mm wrench and a 4mm allen key. If stays need shortened, you will need a measuring tape and hacksaw or bolt cutters.
It will take roughly two hours to install the fender set and require basic mechanical experience.

Front Fender SAFETY Release
Every Bluemel has a safety release system for the front fender. The system allows the struts/stays to be easily uncoupled if branches or other debris become caught between the tire and the fender.

The Bluemels Fender Set provides classic full fender, bolt on coverage that looks amazing on your bike. All fender sets include mounting hardware and instructions. Bluemels are lightweight and durable thanks to SKS Germany's "sandwich" technology of ultra fine strips of aluminum foil coated in plastic. Bluemels fenders are available for 20", 24", 26" and 700c/28"/29er wheel sizes. Fenders must be selected based on wheel size, tire width and frame measurements.
- Rounded fender profile
- Available in a shiny black with black hardware and stays. Some sizes available in silver with silver hardware and stays.
- Additional adapters may be necessary to mount any fender set on a suntour or rockshox fork.
- Profile width must be able to fit through the seat stays and fork legs of the bicycle.
- Shims are included for use with disc brakes.
- Bottom bracket cutouts on rear fender for easy mounting
- Mudflaps available to extend fender profile coverage. Hole will need to be drilled in fender profile.

Revamping the classics
In 2022 the SKS full fender line was renewed. The classic Chromoplastic Longboard and Commuter II full fenders were replaced with the new Bluemels and Bluemels Style fenders.
Both models are made using the same chromoplastic fender material. But, the Bluemels now come with black hardware and are available in more sizes than before.
The Bluemels Style fenders feature a square profile design, double U Stay technology, a matte black finish, and come with a sleek, flexible spoiler on the front and rear fender.
SKS Germany continues to be a leader in clip-on fender options as well.

Montage am Woom 4 zweite Generation war etwas schwieriger, da der Klicker für das Blech nicht die richtige Größe hatte. Ein Tubus Winkel hat das Problem gelöst.Genial war, dass man das Schutzblech unten in die Nut stecken konnte, somit ist da eine passende Lösung vorgegeben.

Bonne qualité de fabrication et belle finition, cependant l'attache centrale du garde boue arrière ne correspond pas, elle est faite pour une largeur inférieure. J'ai donc été obligé de réaliser une patte en métal et de percer le garde boue, pas top pour de la "fabrication allemande". Les tiges sont bien trop longues pour adapter à des roues de 20", il faut les couper et les plier à la demande, donc pour bon bricoleur. Ceci dit, le montage est rigide et qualitatif.

Une des pièces permettant la fixation du garde-boue arrière n'est pas fournie avec une dimension adaptée et semble correspondre à une autre largeur de garde-boue que celle fournie.La pièce n'est pas utilisable, il faut alors modifier le garde boue ou fabrique soi-même un adaptateur, ce qui augmente fortement le temps d'installation.Dommage qu'il ne soit pas possible de se faire renvoyer juste la bonne pièce.
