First off, this item is slightly taller and has a wider flare that any of the other 4 "standard" (if there is such a thing) Japanese-style jiggers that I own, so I would consider it sort of a hybrid rather than a traditional Japanese-style. However, I quickly got used to the shape / balance, and it feels pretty good in the hand, IMO.As some others review mention, through the marvels of modern engineering, there are no seams on the outside, so if you hold it in the middle you're not hitting any ridges or bumps, which is nice.Based on its proportions, it almost looks like it holds more than 2 oz., but measurement-wise the markings seem to be true to form, and doesn't seem short/over to any noticeable extent. If anything, people watching you use it might think they're getting bigger pours though the powers of optical illusion.The other thing I would say, after using it for a while, is that the markings ARE nice and easy to read, and in my opinion having the 1/4 ounce line has really endeared this jigger to me, since I no longer have to be constantly searching for my half-tablespoon measuring spoon that is always being misplaced.Please note that I had the privilege of ordering this item for review so cost is not factored into my rating, that being said I think the going price of $16 is not too much more than the price of the run-of-the-mill ones that litter any marketplace. All in all I rate it 4 stars, because it met or exceeded my expectations based on the description, and it seems to be of above-average quality and functionality as compared to most of the cheap-o ones you get with so-called "bar sets" that has only a few marking of questionable level or quality control. I would consider it a good upgrade from one of those, for sure, for any up-and-coming mixologist or for someone that just wants another jigger in their collection.[update 2025.03 - I'm bumping my rating to 5 stars, because I use this all the time now in my home bar and have not longed to return to my other jiggers at all. I love that this is made of 304 stainless steel and the convenience of it being dishwasher safe. The measurement markings are as follows: the larger end measures 1, 1-1/2, and 2 ounces; the smaller end measures 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ounce. For all of the measurements, the markings are engraved into the metal, so they will not wear off. The lines marking each measure go fully around the jigger, so it is easy to tell if you have a level measurement. The measurements are marked above the line, so it is easy to see what amount you are measuring. The only exception to this is the 1 or 2 ounce measurement on either end is the top edge of that end. The description mentions “Japanese” multiple times; per the product packaging, this product is made in China. This is an excellent jigger for a bar setup.

I have started making more of my own cocktails at home and wanted to step my bar cart game up. It's hard to get excited about a jigger but I do appreciate the lines etched inside that give the different volumes. Beyond that, I don't see much that makes this stand out, especially at this price point.
