Feels like a premium product. The precision and the quality of the finish are tremendous! Not meant for very precise work, but as a pocketable framing companion. The features are very well thought out. The marking holes will accept any drawing utensil and sit at the exact mark. The stair gauge makes repeatable marking a breeze. The cut outs in the middle allow for quick marking of a 45 and 60 degree angles, as well as quick marking of distance. For the price would give it 6 stars if I could.

I really like this small square and find myself using it quite a bit. The issue I have is with the quality of its assembly. The one I received was missing the middle bolt that holds the stop to the main part of the square. Not really a big deal since having three is probably more aesthetic than functional. Then a week later, the magnets that hold the adjustable angle stop both fell out. Again, not a huge deal since the angle stop doesn’t really serve much purpose on such a small square.Overall, this is a really inexpensive and useful tool. If I were to change anything, I would eliminate some of the bells & whistles and focus on the QA/QC.

I bought two of the squares, the red+SS and the red+black. The 2nd one is 80% square out of the box and could be made almost 100% after some fiddling with the three bolts. The 1st one however came with a faulty base block (the red part), and I had to sand off a bit to make it more square. It is now 90% square and I don't wanna bother further sanding.For laying pencil lines, the missing squareness of the 1st one is a non issue, which is the main useage of the square, so I'm still satisfied with it. I use the 2nd one the most thanks to it squareness and light weight. The marks are also more contrasty.Both were made to the highest standard at their price point when it comes to the build quality, so I still highly recommend. I simply fall into love with the looking of the tool.
