This fully threaded rod is made of 18-8 stainless steel for corrosion resistance, has M5-0.8 right-hand threads, and is 1 m long. It meets Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) 975 specifications. The material may be slightly magnetic.
Threaded rods and studs are fasteners that screw into threaded nuts or tapped holes, allowing for assembly of components. The difference between rods and studs is length: In general, a stud is up to 1 foot long, and a rod is more than 1 foot long. Both have threads along part or all of their length. Those that are partially threaded have equal or unequal thread lengths on one or both ends. Studs are also available with a perforated base, weld projections, or a press-in captive head for securing to the surface of a component.

I wanted to use this on a kitchen cabinet mechanism i am developing but it arrived in the condition you see in the image. The rod itself seems to be well protected in a plastic sleeve and of excellent quality but for my use it must be straight and not bent like this. The box it arrived in was not suitable to mail this rod in.

Rod arrived with a bit of wobble to it, but not more than a flexible coupling could handle. I don't think it was a shipping issue, because they definitely took great lengths to package it nicely for shipping.Overall I'm pleased with the purchase, I have been using the rod continuously for the past month running my z-axis on a Prusa i3 MK2 clone.

I've previously tried to source a 5mm threaded rod for my 3D printer to replace a bent one from a different store and finding one that isn't bent and was cost efficient was not easy.This was arrow-straight, packed well and well priced for a meter. I'll finally get that awful z-wobble out.Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and recommend!

This rod can be used as a bicycle quick release skewer. I used it along with PitLock nuts to make a custom anti-theft skewer for my FatBike (rear axle longer than any commercially available locking skewer)
