Very sturdy; made of thick cardboard. I needed 5 boxes due to I ran out of the middle cards in each box so it did get pricey. Right and left cards are interchangeable as they are blank on both sides. It would have been better if the middle card quantity matched the total of the right and left cards as I ran out of the middle ones and had several of the right and left ones left precipitating the need to order more boxes than I actually needed to make up the difference. I would be helpful if Smead offered individual cards or added more middle cards to account for the right and left card count

I received this product and you could tell it was previously returned as the box was ripped and the seal was broken, the box was being held together by a singular piece of tape. Also these are the size of an index card please read the description as to sizes.

Just what I was looking for. These cards are sturdy and have plenty of room to write on. They work great in the two different file boxes I have. Great product and the delivery was quicker than the estimated date.

Since they no longer make my favorite index card, I have been searching for a great replacement. I found it with these. These are not colorful and fun like my others. However, they are thick and you can use a Sharpie and there is no bleedthrough. They are so sturdy and I like the tabs, easy to see and grab with my color coding system. They look like tiny little file folders which I find cute. Love how thick and sturdy they are. They don't bend easy, either.

These are an awesome weight for individual Card Guides. They are NOT FLIMSY at all. Strong and of great quality. They are cut beautifully and hold there own.They are manilla in color and take ink distressing well. These are worth every penny and that is why I bought 2 sets right away. NO MORE CUTTING MY OWN!!!These are 5 inches wide by 3 inch in height PLUS 3/8 inch additional height for the tab. These fit perfect for my regular envelopes even in my stuffed envelopes, in all my elegant journals, junk journals,and for my recipe journal cookbooks. They work for so many things it would take me all day to list what all I use them for. lol Thanks Amazon for having these...very happy with my purchase...Smead ROCKS!! Will order again and again when the need arises. You won't regret purchasing these Card Guides at all!!!

I was unable to find blank 3 x 5 index tabs in the local stores, so I took a chance and bought this online. My concern was the thickness of the paper, since the 3 x 5 lined index cards I purchased at Walmart were much too thin. It turns out the Smead Card Guide was very impressive...more than I expected. Thick quality so the index stands upright in my file boxes. The card does not bleed through and using a black Sharpie marker, I was able to write on BOTH SIDES of the index card. This product is well-priced for the quantity and high quality...highly recommend this and I will be placing repeat orders.

It works well, my only problem is that I would have preferred the smaller kind of tab where the heights range over 1/5th of the card rather than 1/3, but these seem not to be made anymore.
