I'm only writing this review to let other Subaru owners know about how difficult it is to mount on the factory integrated roof rack crossbars.First, I am 5'6", 130 pounds with skinny arms. The space available to tighten the nut onto the hex bolt is miniscule. I had to put one arm in from the back (Photo 1 - the roof surface is reflecting/mirroring the objects above it.) and one from the middle (Photo 2) so that it looked like I was hugging the corner of the tent. The side of my face was flush against the tent to give my hands enough space to move. Then I had to place the wrench on the nut by touch (since I couldn't see it) and turn until it stopped at one of the many obstructions. Sometimes I could get nearly a half turn before I had to remove the wrench and place it again. This took so long that I ended up doing one bracket each day until all 4 were done. The space is so minimal that I couldn't use my torque wrench. Luckily, I had a set of combination wrenches with one end closed. Fitting the closed opening over the nut was easier than using the half opening of the wrenches provided. Photo 2 shows the wrench I used. UPDATE - I just discovered that someone invented something called a 1/2" Flexible Ratcheting Wrench. It looks just like a regular combination wrench but one end ratchets! The one I have uses long sockets which don't fit in this small space. Here's a link to the one I'm going to order to keep in my car for maintenance - https://www.amazon.com/Jetech-Industrial-Ratcheting-Heat-Treated-Combination/dp/B081PW99TZ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8Before I purchased this tent, I was concerned about it being stolen if I left it to go hiking or backpacking. There is no way anyone could steal this tent without destroying it first. The thought of some thief with super skinny arms bear-hugging each corner of the tent while laboriously unscrewing all of the nuts with a hand wrench, makes me chuckle. I doubt that I will ever remove it from the top of my car. With that said, I love it! The quality of the materials and construction exceed my expectations. This is one fantastic tent once you get it installed.I should also mention that I live in an older home and my garage door doesn't open high enough to allow for the ladder to be installed on top. Since I prefer to keep my Outback in the garage, I have to remove the ladder first. Compared to installing the tent on the crossbars, attaching and removing the ladder is a breeze. Just hope I don't forget about it before I pull in.There are a lot more reviews for the previous model of this tent so if you're considering this one, read those reviews as well. The main difference is the type of ladder. The ladder that comes with this one is top notch.

Nice tent setup is easy but during long periods of rain leaks on the inside a little bit

I looked at a lot of different tents. I ended up with the smittybuilt after reading the good and bad from everyone in the world. It is perfect for what I do. I am 6’7 and can sleep in it just fine. Used it in rain and wind with no complaints. It’s a tent not a house wind will always make a little noise.

Product: The tent is great, sets up pretty quick. After you open up the tent, there's only the 8 guide poles for the awnings above the windows to installShipping: The shipping through CEVA is horrible. It took 2 weeks to arrive. Had to setup a delivery time through an email, then two days before it was scheduled to be delivered, I got an email that my new delivery date was 5 days further away! I called CEVA and they said it was a computer glitch, but I did have to be home between 2pm and 5pm to sign for the tent. I rushed home and they called at 5:08 to say they would be here in 15 minutes, 30 minutes later they arrived and the box was SUPER beat up. They placed it down and said "we good?". I said just let me check it real quick and took the top of the box and cut the corners so I could make sure the frame wasn't bent. After I said it was OK, they said I didn't have to sign for anything and they left. When I flipped the tent over, I saw they put the part of the box with a gouge mark on the bottom.Final: So I'm just gonna live with the scrape on the tent base and sew up the ripped screen.

After less than a year and only 5 trips, have had to replace most of the hardware. Tent rattles and falls apart, added loctite all around, nuts and bolts fall out brackets twist and the frame risks damage. Tent itself is roomy, but setup and tear down takes ages compared to hardshell options. Honestly debating selling it or just scrapping for another option, constantly replacing hardware, long setup and tear down times and the tall profile robbing MPGs makes this an all around bad purchase.

Packaging makes it easy to handle and get out with two people. Was delivered with care. I think they could add different length of mounting rails to avoid the need for cutting but as I have it mounted I do not feel the need to cut anything. Installation was easy so long as you have two people(it weighs approx 150 lbs) the tent itself is great and setup I have down to 8 minutes. Directions given weren’t super helpful but fortunately it’s extremely easy to figure out on your own. Could easily fit three people in close quarters, two people comfortably and 1 person with plenty of space. Still figuring out the ladder as it can be a pain sometimes, but I won’t take points off as it’s brand new to me so I’m sure I’ll figure out the best methods. Will add video next time it’s sunny out showcasing set up and POV walkthrough

I bought this tent for a camping trip with my friends and I was very happy with it. The quality of the tent was excellent, it was sturdy, waterproof and spacious. It matched the description on the website and it came with all the accessories I needed. It met my expectations and even exceeded them in some aspects. I would recommend this tent to anyone who is looking for a reliable and comfortable shelter for outdoor adventures.
