As its name suggests, Snake-Bite Smooth is a smooth (circular cross-section) version of Snake-Bite. Snake-Bite Smooth is made from the same co-polyester material as the original. I was pleasantly surprised by these strings. I'm a chronic string breaker and would need to have the shop restring about once a month. I ended up learning to restring myself and chose these strings to start. In terms of stiffness, these strings (in black) feel like they're somewhere in between Yonex PolyTour Pro (YPTP) and Yonex PolyTour Strike (YPTS). In terms of spin and durability, they are closer to YTPS. I still break/restring once a month but it doesn't cost me a fortune anymore. I would recommend stringing crosses 2-3lbs less than the mains to reduce notching and prolong string lifespan. Looking forwards to purchasing more reels from Golden Set.

No one's heard of them but Golden Set makes terrific polyester string. The college teams I coach love this string as well.

Inexpensive but super durable! Love the way its texture bites and spins the ball! I haven't gone back to the more popular brands since I started using this! I can't see myself spending $20 just for the string plus some $15 for labor when I can get the same quality for less than half the price, with labor included!
