We just moved to a house on the lake and it's not and if we see a snake but when we see a snake. I know it's gonna be me that has to take care of it, so why no be prepared? This thing works like it should for $25. I don't plan on using it often and it will work well enough for those times. The locking/unlocking mechanism feels a but clunky, but it has no effect on the snake-grabbing part. It's far enough away from the snake to feel comfrtable but not so far away that it's unwieldy. It's also nice that it's stainless steel. Feel fine leaving it in the garage and not having to worry about it rusting or breaking down from the elements. Also comes with an additional wire and locking mechanism part.If this were $50, I'd leave it 2 or 3 stars, at $25 it's 4 or 5. If I had to use it every day, I would want something more robust. It's not a pincher for picking up trash or anything else besides snakes, or maybe heavy ropes.

THis review is for the Snake Grabber Tool with Lock, 47" Professional Snake Tongs Stick Heavy Duty Reptile Snake Catcher Grabber Stainless Steel Snake Pole Wide Jaw Handling Tool with a Protective Structures for Snakes. So this is a handy tool. I'm sure it would be good for grabbing snakes, we don't have any snakes I need to be grabbing. I'm using this to walk around the back yard and pick up sticks as I'm handicapped with a very bad back, bending over is not good for it! And we have lots of trees and squirrels (squirrels love to chew branches off and prune the trees for those whoom don't know it), so we have a lot of branches/sticks that fall. I pick them up as we use them in the firepit, and I don't like running over them with the riding mower. This has a nice serrated metal jaws on it that work smoothly. The entire thing is metal except for the soft plastic grip part over the handle. The handle works smoothly to clamp the jaws, but the lock mechanism I couldn't get to work. It's not an issue for me since I'm picking up sticks, but it might be if you're picking up snakes. This thing is honestly heavier duty than any extenda reach gripper/pick up tool that's made for handicapped/elderly use. It should last. It also comes with an cable/spring... for if it's needed in the future.Regular price $ 28.99 per the listing, on sale $ 22.99.

Overall, this is good and exactly as described. However, the part that holds the snake is just metal with some grooves. I worry that it could cause damage, especially to a wild, panicking snake. It would be great if this part had some sort of rubber coating or padding. I am planning on using some pre wrap or similar material to wrap around this part. Otherwise, it works and it is also useful to grabbing things that have fallen in weird spots like behind the couch.

Full transparency, I got this for my mother so that she could easily pick up sticks around her 2 acre property and not throw her back out. Her previous version was plastic and broke, so I opted for metal to ensure some longevity. Well this thing is definitely legit. It's heavy (but not too heavy she's now throwing her shoulder out- lol) and sturdy. It clamps together for easier grabbing. Should she run across a snake, because we definitely have some larger ones in our area, she can easily grab it and keep it at a distance... while also screaming and probably running away.$25 seemed a bit high for me but now that I see this thing, I think the price tag is warranted. It comes with an extra cable in the event the first breaks or wears out, which is a nice add.Bottom line I think for snakes or large branches, this is a good tool to have.

Review of ”Snake Grabber Tool with Lock, 47" Professional Snake Tongs Stick Heavy Duty Reptile Snake Catcher...":(Please refer to my reviewing guidelines at the bottom of the page). We live on our 52' Trawler 100% of the time and anchor out and travel 99.99% of the time. We like to use our tender (small boat) to go out exploring and whenever we see trash we pick it up. Sometimes there's so much that we decide to clean up the entire beach and end up with a lot of trash to take to the boat landing where there is a garbage can. We've been wanting a light weight extension grabber like this to grab the trash on the edge of the shore that we can pick up while still in the boat and also for the stuff that's in the deep weeds. It's much safer doing it from a distance and also nice to not touch some of the nasty things that we find. This works exactly as intended. We like the very simple design, and also that they include all of the individual pieces of hardware so that you can repair it if it ever fails. I can't imagine it will ever be needed because it's built well, but it's good to have.I've done a bit of market research on Amazon for this specific type of product and find that at $29 with a 5% coupon bringing it to $27.54 this is priced competitively for the market. I'm assigning 5 stars to this product because it's a good reliable design that's priced well and comes with spare parts. My responsibility as an Amazon Vine Reviewer:Considering the Amazon rules/regulations for being a Vine Member It is obvious that it is very important to Amazon that the person doing the review has indeed inspected, tested, used the product as well as being aware of the competitive situation of the market segment. This is so it can be fairly compared and reviewed whether good, bad, average, or anywhere in all of the grey area between. One thing that I wish were better defined by Amazon is exactly what each star should represent from 1 to 5 so that every Vine member would use the same guide in that regard. So, to let you know the guide that I use, I include it as follows:I always start off considering that average is 3 stars, and an average rating to me is:The product was correctly represented in the ad.The manufacturing quality is as expected. The product performed as intended. The product operating/user guide if needed is helpful. The product is priced accordingly. Then after inspection, measuring, testing, using, wearing, or whatever is requiredI add or subtract from the average as follows:Subject to additional stars:Additional product features not expected that are useful.Manufacturing quality/performance above what was stated or expected.Included guides and/or useful information that is beyond the norm.Product pricing highly competitive for a superior product.Subject to fewer stars:The product was misrepresented in the ad.Manufacturing quality/performance below what was stated or expected. No useful guide or understandable user information when required.Product pricing is on the high side considering quality, features, or the market.all the best,dr
