First, will state that for $12 bucks, I'm not expecting miracles here. But there are just a few issuesFirst, it's cheap plasticn with a thin metal backplate. These controllers can get warm as 30A isn't nothing to sneeze at. The screw tabs suggest an industrial application but the circuit doesn't seem to suggest it would last that long. One star off.Second, the design flaw is that even with a full solar load, it requires battery power to illuminate the LCD screen. What that's telling us is it' draws power from the battery when it's not charging. Another star off.Lastly, I personally cannot stand when the description pictures on an Amazon listing simply do not make sense. "Multi-intelligent security protection bid farewell to the security of the hidden dangers of security protection system." I mean, what does that even mean?Does it send power to the USB, yes and it's within spec but in it's current configuration I don't expect the PCB to last. The best I can say is that I'll probably use this for some other solar hack experiment, including putting on a real heatsink.

It wouldn’t recognize the 400w solar panel that was connected. Drained the battery dead and never charged at all.

There’s no special bells or whistles with this charge controller but the fact of the matter is it actually gets the job done at a fraction of the price of other models. Yes I’m sacrificing some of the efficiency and not sure of the longevity since it does run a bit warm/hot but in a pinch this does the trick!
