About this item

  • On Time Feeders Solar Fish Feeder With Barrel

This feeder's Elite Digital Timer can be programmed to feed from one to six times a day with an adjustable feed time from 1 to 30 seconds. An agitator rod extends into the 150 lb. feed container. The feeder features an easy self-leading screen with step-by-step instructions, a 6V high torque motor with three motor speeds, and a 6V rechargeable gel cell battery. A solar wrap panel eliminates the need for external wires or separate glass panels to minimize possible damage.

Bought three of these, two stopped working almost immediately, the third lasted 6 months but every time it rained the food gets wet at the dispenser and plugs it up, then it died also.Total garbage.

Purchased as a Christmas present for my dad...he wanted a solar automatic fish feeder for the pond they live on. Based on the description and the reviews, this was it. However, dad thought it was too big and didn’t have a place to install without building a pole or something to attach it to. The feeder itself seemed well made and sturdy enough, but could tell it was not what dad really wanted...so I offered to return and find something else for him on a smaller scale. Dad was happy!Make sure if you order this feeder, it is what you want! It cost $120.00 in shipping to return this item. I purchased as a Prime member for $250.00. . .I should have made sure free returns were included or that I could have at least taken it to a Kohl’s. My bad.The company has received the item back according to the tracking info . . .3 business days ago and still no acknowledgement of receipt or refund.

I am not a commercial catfish farmer but I do have fish ponds on my ranch. I have had three AquaPros. They excel in throwing a narrow stream of fish food for a good distance but eventually they all begin to have jamming problems. At near $500 a pop, they should perform better and last longer. Disassembly for cleaning and troubleshooting is a royal pain. The problem with them is two-fold: two motors (and when one fails . . . . ) and an inefficient feed funneling design. I bought and installed my first Elite Digital a few weeks ago and it has performed as advertised. The design is simple, and jamming at the food funnel is eliminated by a simple agitator mechanism on the top side of motor. Another plus: the foot print of the AquaPro on a fishing deck is eliminated by the pole mounted Elite Digital. The Elite Digital is not as directional as AquaPro since it relies on a deflection plate to send the pellets out in a wide spray but in my set up, all of the feed goes into the water. Adjustments to feeding schedules are easier with AquaPros but the Elite Digital simply requires the loosening of two set screws in order to access the timer which is encased in the bottom of the motor housing. Question: how often do you make schedule changes? Me neither. Obviously I also like the price of the Elite Digital at almost half that of an AquaPro, and I especially like the integrated wrap-around design of the solar panel. I just received my second Elite Digital and will install it on the weekend. Time will tell if it is the answer I am hoping for. It looks very good so far.
