i changed out my stainless lower pitch prop for this one (factory spec) and now I have higher top speed and better mpg. The stainless did get up on plane faster and seemed to have more "traction", but i had more metal shavings on my outdrive drain plug magnet. I will keep the stainless in case I ever need to haul something heavy or make a lot of waves, but I spend more time cruising than hauling heavy loads, this prop was the same pitch and diameter as the factory prop that came with the boat at a much better price, i'm very happy
