Class-Leading Mic Amps

Class-Leading Mic Amps

4 beautifully detailed mic preamps to capture every nuance of every performance, with enough gain to cope with whatever microphone you're plugging in. Our two-stage design uses a mixture of specially chosen discrete low-noise transistors in combination with ICs, resulting in exceptionally low-noise performance (-130 dBu EIN) and a superior gain range (62 dB).

Full +24 dBu Operating Levels

Full +24 dBu Operating Levels

Unlike many USB-powered audio interfaces, the balanced line inputs and outputs on SSL 12 work all the way up to +24 dBu, allowing you to seamlessly integrate with your favourite analogue outboard gear and other line-level devices.

No Compromise Conversion and Monitoring

No Compromise Conversion and Monitoring

Great converters solid enough build I’d recommend this for windows users who are between this and the Apollo twin, this runs so smooth on windows and the Apollo is buggy, choose this like I did and you won’t be disappointed.

Worked beautifully while it worked. But then a hardware failure 1.5 months out of warranty period. Not only no grace from the manufacturer on the warranty - they don't repair out of warranty units at all, instead offering to buy a new one with a $100 discount. With much respect to the legacy of SSL - this is a shame, these units should last longer than 1 year.

I own the SSL2+ and loved it so it seemed like a no brainer to upgrade to the bigger guy for my home studio. Has some great sounding preamps and converters and nice to have features like a high impedence headphone amp, talk back mic, high pass filter for all inputs, two 1/4 inch Hi-Z inputs for instruments. My only gripe with it is the ADAT configuration. I have a Scarlett 18i20 for additional inputs and ouputs that I previously used in conjunction with the SSL2+ as an aggregate device on Mac. Unfortunately the SSL12 only has an ADAT in, no out. This means that I'm unable to utilize the additional outputs of the Scarlett through the SSL12, in case I'd want to use outboard gear. Also I have to set the older Scarlett as clock source in order for the two interfaces to sync and avoid pops and clicks, when I'd rather use the newer and more reliable SSL12 as the source. Just seems like design oversight not having an ADAT out on this interface, especially at this price point.

The mixer preamp is great, very quiet and the SSL 360 app is killer, just with it worked on my SSL2

Great sounding pre's, low noise high gain, tons of flexibility with the SSL routing app. Exactly what I needed. Haven't had a single issue.

This is the first Solid State Logic hardware I've owned. Love their plug-ins. This was an upgrade to my excellent Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen. This thing sounds excellent. Headphone amp is good enough for my Beyerdynamic 250 impedance cans. The 360° software control mixer is phenomenal, plus I got SSL vocal chain and drum buss plug-ins too. Connectivity allows for you to grow your setup and the preamps sound pristine. Plenty of gain, means lots of headroom, plus 32-bit float recording is the icing on the cake. Glad I made the purchase.

I am very pleased with this interface — Sound quality is fantastic, it has a great UI (SSL 360), the preamps sound great, the 4k buttons are very fitting for MY voice at least. I really only have good things to say about it… the only thing negative I might say is that some of the knobs FEEL a bit cheap.. I can’t expect TOO much though at this price point. The sound and number of inputs/outputs is what I was worried about more than the build materials…. I LOVE that it has two headphones outputs with separate volume knobs. ALSO I can set which type of headphone impedance I want for each port. So I can have High impedance setting for my Sennheiser’s jack and and high sensitivity setting for my IEMs. Definitely feels like it’s pulling way above its weight at this price point.
