Seems to go through batteries quickly. Battery compartment not well designed as it becomes disconnect (have to bend the contact up from the circuit board) doesn't maintain good signal strength

I'm using my door sensors in the smartthings app for a routine. Our master bedroom is upstairs, i hooked up a z-wave 4 channel relay and wired up LED's behind the relays. Each of the 4 relays connect to a different colored LED which is housed in a small bezel. this is all neatly packaged behind our TV with the LED's at the top. When a door is opened, we simply get a light notification. So if we're watching TV, we know when any of the doors are opened.

Bought a two pack and had no issues getting the 1st one paired into home assistant. The 2nd one seems to be defective. When a removed the back to take out the battery insulator. The whole circuit board flew out. In order for home assistant to see the sensor it had to be right next to the hub. It does not register open/closures. The battery status says 68 % with the original battery and the same thing with a new one. Going to need to reach out to their support for a replacement.

I have them indoors and outdoors with no issues for over a year. Winter gets -50C around these parts, and these sensors still keep working even thought they are rated for way less. I have 8 of these and only had to replace one battery in one, and it wasn't one of the ones that was outside. Have these hooked up through home assistant with no issues what so ever.

Used with Hubitat, added easily, but then both of them used the battery within 1 week and had to be replaced. Cover is very difficult to open to replace the battery. One of the sensors had to have the battery replaced yet again after another few days. They disconnect and stop communicating randomly with no changes to Hubitat config, all other devices in the network keep working fine. Skip this one and find another.

2 stars because it technically *could* work if you have a door or window that aligns perfectly with no offset (no trim) and has a gap of less than 0.3" / 8mm - i.e. no real door or window in a normal house.Instructions indicate maximum sensor distance is 10mm (0.393"), but even with perfect alignment on a flat table, it only registers as closed at about 8mm (0.31" - measured with a calipers), and if there is any offset from trim around the door, it doesn't seem to work at any distance (needs to be basically touching). So, for most/all practical applications, the sensor doesn't work, or would have to hang way off the side of door trim and/or need extra shims to align the sensor exactly.A more minor gripe is that the pairing instructions are not right. Instructions say to start pairing on the app, hold the button down for 5 seconds and then wait for pairing to complete. This did not work. To get it to pair, I had to hold the button down for about 20-30 seconds until it registered on the app, then it paired. I'm using a Sonoff brand Zigbee USB adapter which has worked fine for other devices, so it seems to be just this sensor with the issue.Returning and will not be buying this or anything else from Sonoff again.

I had a bad luck with these sensors, from 4 that I recently bought 3 of them got disconnected from ZigBee controller within three weeks of use, battery seemed to be the culprit in despite that they tested ok wit a multimeter. After replacing the battery it had to be removed from the Home Assistant configuration to be able to be discovered and connected again. The adhesive pad to hold them seems to be old because two of the sensors felt to the ground within two weeks after installation. I had several Sonoff products in the past, but I'm quite disappointed with this one.Update: The 4th. of these sensors now failed to connect too, and two of the ones that I replaced the battery now are giving wrong status. They are unreliable for an alarm system, I'm going to replace them with a better quality ones and not buying this sensors again, Lowering my review from 3 to 1 star.

Would not connect to Amazon Echo 4th Gen Speaker (Zigbee) even if it was 2” away. Extremely weak Zigbee signal from device. Yes, the battery was new at 3.17V. I have connected other Zigbee devices to my Amazon Echo 4th Gen speakers and they have stayed connected and functioning from 1 floor below. This device is useless!

Very easy to install and set up, get push notifications sent to your phone when a door or window opens. About the only thing missing is an option to let you know if a door or window has been left open after a certain amount of time has passed. The battery life seems to depend on how many times the door is opened or closed the more the door or window is opened, the shorter the battery life, which makes sense.
