I bought this housing for my Go Pro Hero 5 and it fit well and kept my device fine without flooding. The housing fit securely with a 3rd party light, and I was able to use the camera functionality underwater that I needed. However my red lens fell of right before we started the dive. Even though I was able to put it back on before the dive as soon as I reached depth I realized the lens was gone. Pretty disappointing considering I already had a go pro housing that worked, but I bought this one to use because my original one didn’t have a filter that fit. The filter snaps on easy but apparently falls off just as easy, which is a bummer because I was planning to use the housing system on a shark dive in a couple of months.

I got this for gopro 5 to go snorkeling with. I only used the light red filter.Pros: - Cheaper than the "official" gopro accessories. - It does pretty much exactly what it says it does. - Camera still dry inside after 30 foot deep or so dives.Cons: - If there is even the tiniest bit of water inside, it will fog up the lense. Make sure camera is away from water and completely dry before inserting and make sure it's closed correctly before you start. Also note it's difficult to see if it's fogged at all on the tiny screen. - The lenses snap on only one way. The other way, they fit on loosely and will not be secure. - When putting on and removing, the lense likes to separate into 3 pieces, the colored plastic, the snap on perimeter and an insert to the snap on part. I almost lost part in the water due to this. - Bubbles like to stick to the lense. Remove and wipe down while underwater and perhaps shake a bit underwater to keep bubbles from getting in the way. Be careful not to lose lense as the pieces separate. - If you happen to come acreoss an "official" gopro housing, the lenses will not snap on. Perhaps they might workI took this on about a dozen outings of an hour or two each and never had a problem with water getting inside except for 2 times it fogged up the lense, but no visible water. I would let it sit out in the sun for a few minutes to ensure it was bone dry and reinserted the camera without a problem. Applying antifog to the inside lense area doesn't seem to have any effect. If there's any residual moisture and it's a hot day, it will find it's way in front of the lense. I prefer this case to the official gopro one as it has a safety latch and then unlatches to open with moderate force while the official one feels like you're about to break it before it finally snaps open. Only other difference seems to be the buttons are plastic on this as opposed to metal on the official one. Either way, I recommend using this all the time when with water due to hearing all the bad reviews about the camera itself not being waterproof despite gopro saying it is.

The first case I bought from SOONSUN was hard to open and broke soon after purchase but David at SOONSUN kindly reached out to me even though the return date had passed, replaced the case and sent me an additional frame for my go pro at no cost to me! The new case is very easy to open but otherwise is the same design as the old case. I am thrilled with how the company treated me and would definitely recommend purchasing from them.

Just got back from a week long trip to Cozumel. Used this case with a Hero 7 White. I noted some of the comments from others regarding leaks. Probably the first thing I did before using this underwater was to clean the silicone seal and the seal seat. I think applied a very thin coating of silicone grease. I had some left over from my Nikonos V. All my previous UW cameras required cleaning and applying silicone to the seal.I did note that without the desiccants installed AT THE BOTTOM the camera was not high enough in the case for the shutter release/record button to work. Ensuring these were in placed resolved this issue. My only issue with the case occurred when I lost the red filter. I failed to adequately secure the string to the bottom of the case and it floated away :-( We were diving in down to 90 or so feet in stiff current. It really helped with the color correction at that depth. Hopefully, I can get a new one.

I ordered this to use as a professional diver in Alaska, filming basic dives to show people later. Since I live in a remote area in Alaska during the summer, I ordered the housing before I moved so by the time I got the housing and used it, and found it useless, it was past the return date. Since I cannot return it, I feel I should spare others a similar fate. When I received it, everything looked good and I hopped on a ship and headed out to sea. Before the first dive, I checked the housing in a rinse bucket and it leaked. I cleaned it, checked the o-ring and tried again dive 2. I went to maybe 40 feet and by 15 feet I could see water was inside the housing. I have tried all the tricks I know of to make this work and have taken it on a dozen shallow dives to make sure it was not just user error, even had several colleagues check it. All to no avail. I guess you get what you pay for. What I like about this dive housing is that you do not have to remove the lens on your GoPro for it to fit in the dive housing. If I would have removed the lens my GoPro would have been ruined. Pass on this and go after a more time tested brand, even if it means paying a little extra.
