The Main Roles of Bow Square
1. Measure the middle brace height
The brace height has a great impact on the arrow speed and fault tolerance. Generally, the smaller the brace height is, the higher the arrow speed is, and the worse the fault tolerance is. Too small or too large the brace height will lead to increased vibration, which will have a negative impact on the performance of the bow.
The method is to place the T-end of the T-ruler on the bow riser and measure the distance to the bow string.
2.Determine the arrow hitching position
The Arrow hitching position has a great influence on the accuracy of shooting arrows. If the arrow hitching position is too low, it will also lead to feather damage.
The method is to clamp the T-ruler on the bow string, then put the Longer end ruler on the archery rest, take the middle of the gauge distance of the shorter end ruler as the archery arrow hitching position, and Start winding arrow hitching position one millimeter above and one millimeter below.
3.Measure the brace height difference between the twp bow limbs
Different archery hooking techniques have different requirements for the upper and lower bow brace height difference, and the appropriate upper and lower bow brace height difference can not be underestimated for the improvement of accuracy.
The method is to add the T end of the bow square to the root of the handle socket of the upper and lower bow limbs, measure the distance to the bow string, and see what the difference is.

I’m a newbie here so I got the kit for my primitive recurve bow.I had zero problems identifying where to place the notch with the added tools & the crimp that comes with got the job done easily.I definitely think these are worth it particularly when learning with a new bow.Notches themselves are small & good quality, I’ve had no problems & I appreciate the help with my accuracy.

Almost everything you need to set up your new recurve bow. You will still need a stringer, an arrow rest if your bow didn't come with one, and bow string wax.Four stars: The quality of the crimping tool isn't exceptional, but it does the job. The pivot on the crimping tool was showing some rust out of the box. The bow square is made out of aluminum, but it is truly square, and the scales are accurate. Inch scale on one side, millimeters on the other. It is easy to bend, it isn't aircraft grade aluminum, you will need be careful with it if you want it to last.
