This heating element worked very well for one year, but then it failed. SpaGuts would not honor their 2 year warranty. They inspected it (I had to pay the postage) and stated that it apparently was dry fired. I can assure you that our hot tub never ran out of water as we use it almost daily. And our chemicals are kept in spec as well. There was no damage to the electrical terminals either. The valves to the heater are wire tied open.Very disappointed with Spa Guts.Do not buy this element with the idea that you are really going to receive a two year warranty.

Junk didn't last a year. I wouldn't buy anything from spa guts. Buyers beware

The old one was 20 years old and frozen in there, used a Dremel and cut off wheel to remove.

Instead of replacing the whole unit with tube, i was able to replace just the heating element. worked exactly as I needed

Bought this Titanium Universal Heater Element for my spa for about one fifth the price of the OEM model. After 8 months, it is still going strong. It seems well made, and I expect it to last for many years. The installation was straightforward (search YouTube- there are several very good videos on how to replace just the element as opposed to the entire stainless steel tube assembly). If you are comfortable doing this type of work, I would recommend this element without reservation.

Spa electrical panel kept tripping, so went through the process to disconnect all the potential issue items (blower, etc.), and found that the heater was causing the short. This was probably because I do not nearly pay enough attention to the water quality in my spa as I do with the pool - especially during the hot summer months. Looking at the Balboa alternatives (full assembly), the cost was about 5x more expensive than just replacing the heater element. It was actually quite easy to make the replacement, see YouTube for many tutorials, and installed this replacement yesterday. This fixed the problem and seems to be working well. As advertised in Amazon, this comes with a 5-year warranty, so if anything happens within this time, I will write an update. Also, it is less expensive in Amazon than purchasing directly from SpaGuts.
