Cheap insurance to insure you don't rip your spark plug wire apart when removing them. Newer engines run HOT to reduce emissions. Downfall if it cooks plug wires and causes them to stick on the plug, these pliers allow you to grab the plug boot and reduce the possibility of ripping the wire apart significantly.

I used this to help remove spark plug wires on a 2007 F 150 4.2l V6. The first two times I changed them out was a hassle. Could not easily reach and manipulate the a few of the plug boots to remove them. I used these the third time and cut my time to nearly 20 minutes. It has a formed and angled jaw to grab without slipping. The length helps out so you can see what you're doing without your hands being in the way of your sight. These are also very helpful with hose clamps, reinstalling plug wires and grabbing dropped items in engine compartment and other options. This is a great tool and wish I had this with all my other vehicles.

The only reason I was able to change spark plugs on an 18-year-old vehicle and the spark plugs and wires were stock on a 2006 Pontiac G6 imagine being Rusty original and having three wires and plugs in the back they're a pain in the ass to get to but thanks to this tool I was able to actually get the job done! Thank God I decided to order this before working on the Pontiac otherwise I would have broke all the wires trying to pull them out one by one 🤦🏽♂️ this tool definitely helped me dodge the bullet!! 🙏👍👍

I have a terrible history of destroying perfectly good plug wires when I pull them off. After destroying my most recent set of wires while doing simple routine maintenance, I decided to look for a tool to solve the problem.This tool fits the bill. It's not a five star tool, but it's good enough for what it is. For dealing with traditional L-shaped boots on vintage cars, this tool helps to yank the boots off without separating them from their wires. It may be useful for other styles of boots, but I have no experience with that.
