Gets the job done. Doesn't wow, but tape that wows is pretty hard to come by. Good value for the money.

This is a decent quality crepe masking tape. It seems like an average/usual thickness for a general purpose tape. I've included a picture of the tape with light shining through it to give you an idea of how thick it is. The most important thing to note is this is a medium to low tack tape, so it's not very sticky and it's going to be easy to remove. I would not use this tape for paint masking as it doesn't stick well to very smooth surfaces like glass, and because it's a crepe tape, you'll have some paint seepage under the tape.At a couple of bucks a roll it's a good price, but the low tack adhesive may not work for my needs. I have a large building to paint and need to tape together a lot of rosin paper to protect the floor and my initial trial with this tape isn't looking good. It's just not sticky enough for this purpose. If you have a need for low tack tape, this could be the right product for you, but I won't be buying it again.

I am a DIYer, and wood worker and I use masking tape in my small garage shop all the time. I mostly use it when cutting plywood to reduce tear out. As you can imagine this wastes a lot of tape. Since the price of this bundle of 12 is about half the price of the big box stores, I thought I would try it. I am very pleased with the way it performs so far. It sticks well to my work and comes off without leaving any residue. I have used it for wrapping bundles of molding together to avoid warping and for the CA glue and painters tape trick. The tack or stickiness is not as strong as the 3M or Scotch brand and so it is very easy to peel off when done. I would not use this for pattern router work as I don't think it is strong enough for that. It seems to be a bit thinner than the big-name brands and it was difficult to find the beginning of the roll when first using the tape. This will be my go-to tape for reducing plywood tear out but will not replace the other guys for the CA glue trick (if you don't know what that is check You Tube, it's a very handy trick). This tape has a stronger tack to it than drafting tape, but not as strong as standard painters tape. I have not used it for masking while painting, so I can't really speak to bleed though or removal of paint.Bottom line.. for the price I think this is a good deal. Especially if you go through tape like I do.....

The name brands have dominated the painter's tape market for a long, long time. When shopping at the big box stores, there are usually just one or two of the big brands available. They have a captive audience. As it goes, I have been a user of the big brand tapes from the big box stores for many, many years. I have a a nice supply on hand as I write this review. When selecting this Spartan Industries tape, the first thing I noticed is the price. Compared to the big brands, this brand is much less, so I figured I would try it out and see how it holds up.The first test was to rip off a 6" piece and stick it down on cold granite. I then removed the tape and replaced it several more times in different locations on the granite, then let it sit for several days. I did this to see how well the tape will hold up to use, reuse, and to see if it would start to peel away over time. I was very pleased to find this tape performs very well. In fact, I would put it right up against the big brands as far as performance goes. Referencing price, the Spartan Industries brand is much less when compared to the big brands. Finally, when it comes to value, this tape wins hands down. When analyzing performance and cost, this tape is the winner. Spartan Industries has a new loyal customer with their painter's tape.I recommend this tape from Spartan Industries, and thank you for reading my review.

Tener en cuenta la superficie donde se va a emplear, la adherencia depende de esta.

I got this specifically to cover wood going into a laser cutter, to prevent surface scorching. The tape takes the scorch, then you pull it off. Less sanding to do, though of course the cuts are still black. It also can cover aluminum can-stock for cutting, if you want an unpainted surface afterward. But before that, I used it to hold a string of lights on the wooden porch rail to work out the positions of the big bulbs vs. the uprights before screwing in the hooks to hold them, because the string was twice as long as the space. No problem pulling up and re-positioning a few times on unwashed outdoor surfaces. No damage to the aged paint from the tape. It held pretty well with the weight of bulbs and cord, if I rubbed it down well. It's also holding excess cord in loops by winding it around on itself. I'm leaving that on. We'll see how the adhesive handles summer heat. It's traditional to hold down watercolor paper with white tape, but I like this black because it better shows where the painting's surface actually ends. It has a nice framing effect.I also wound up using it when reviving an old corrugated cardboard 2-drawer file cabinet. The paper I covered it was pattern on black, and I used this to cover bare edges of drawers, and now it looks ready to outlive me.
