The Speed Controller with On-Off Switch, 120 VAC 6.0 Amp Motor Variable Speed Controller for Ventilation Fans is a flexible fan or motor speed controller. I needed to control the speed on a tabletop fan that only worked on high. I installed it in a project box with the cut off ends of a broken extension cord wired to the device and it controls the fan just like it was made for it. It does a great job of controlling the speed and holds a steady speed without fluctuation. This is a really flexible controller that has lots of uses and is reliable.

Variable speed 120vac 6amp controller with on and off. Perfect for a replacement or use in a custom project. Just remember it’s for useage with DC motors, AC motors can be damaged if attempted to be operated with this controller.

To me the most important use of this item is that it lets me continuously vary the speed of my ceiling fan!The photo shows the fan controller in the wall box. I'm using a standard 2-gang Decora wall plate, not the one included in the box, which is why the photo shows just the controller. Also, you have to provide your own screws to attach the controller to the wall box (surprised they are not included). Screws for the wall plate are included though.When my ceiling fan is set to the Med-Hi speed, it is at some harmonic that causes the fan to wobble and make creaking sounds. Moving fan blades around, balancing them, nothing has worked. But with this variable speed control, just a little bit above that speed, or a little bit below, and everything is perfect.So if you want more control over your fan speed, this controller is highly recommended!
