It does what it was intended to, give a child the sense of independence of having their own umbrella. Easy for a child to open and close and covers them in a light rain, but would definitely need shelter in a down pure of rain.

The umbrella is the perfect size for preschool aged children. Each of my preschoolers have one and they love it. It has held up well
