The splash shield on our F-150 had completely torn off, leaving the underside of the engine and oil pan less protected from splashes. This replacement helps keep the area cleaner. Like the factory part, this provides no real protection from impact. It is constructed of a compressed fabric type material which will *only* protect against splashes, it is not a skid plate. The fit is similar to the factory part with a couple differences. First it sits lower, potentially creating a situation where it might catch on something. Second, the sides are angled up and somewhat form shaped to the contour of the vehicle - providing a little better protection from splash. For our use - keeping the underside of the vehicle a little cleaner - this works great. If you go off road at all the lower hang may cause you some issues.

I don't know what happened to the OEM splash guard. I was looking under my truck one day, for something else, and I realized the OEM splash guard was missing. So, I was happy to see that Amazon has these for sale, and at a reasonable price.Installation was a breeze. It fits perfectly as one might expect. The bolts even fit the OEM nuts that were still in place. This splash guard looks nice. I can't say that I will ever care what it looks like as it's going to be under my truck and I rarely look under my truck. Also, I'm expecting that this will become filthy since I tend to drive dirt, gravel, or mud roads. When I wash my truck, I rarely consider washing anything underneath. So this probably looks as good as it ever will... but like I said, I'm not going to care.I was a bit surprised that this is made of some sort of plastic fiber board. It feels like felt covering plastic. I believe the OEM was made of a similar material. But it just seems t me that the plastic fibers would collect dirt. We'll see.The plastic behind the fiber feels a bit flimsy. It bends really easily. It feels like it might bend with air pressure while driving, or from water, snow, or ice. The guard is only connected via 4 holes and a small tab at the front. To me it feels like this will not stay on my car very long. I don't have the OEM guard to compare it with so I can't say if this is more or less flimsy than the OEM.To be honest, I never inspected the OEM guard. I actually thought it was made of metal. I thought it was one of the off-road guard "plates". When I went to the dealer to have it replaced, they said it was a fiber plastic thing and wanted to charge me $250 to install a new one. Seeing how this attaches, I'm assuming the guy at the dealer was correct. A steal plate would have had more substantial attaching hardware.I can't tell what sort of material the screws are made of. There was nothing left of the OEM guard or the screws used to hold it on. I expect they must have rusted through and everything just fell off.

No major differences from the OEM part. Fit on my 2018 F150 perfectly. My old splash guard had become victim to Ford's bad design (a corner has torn off) so this replacement working was nice.

Just installed on my 2021 f150 so this part will fit from 2015 - 2025 f150s . It’s made of the same stuff that the factory one is so I can’t say I expect it to last more than the last one did which was about 30k . Wish this part was Aluminum from the factory But it’s not , it’s just fiber whatever they call it and not made to last long . I’m thinking if you don’t tighten it as tight as possible it’ll last longer , just snug it up by hand .. I also re enforced it around the holes with some fiber cloth tape , hopefully it’ll help keep it from ripping like the oem did .. good value for sure ..cus without it I dropped 2 mpg , with it I get 3 mpg better …
