Bought this to keep two lab/aussie brothers contained inside our property and it works absolutely flawlessly.I do wish I had went with a gps system for travelling....but if you're not concerned about that....THIS system is perfect.Even installed under my gravel driveway inside of a garden hose and have had zero issues.Has adjustable sensitivity to set a stim distance from the fence so if you have to install near a roadway. You can adjust the sensitivity to keep the dogs further away from the road (but that applies for the entire perimeter of the fence)

Awesome awesome awesome !!!! We got a german shephard puppy we live in the country on a road that gets a fair bit of traffic. It took a while to get her trained with it as she was very young when we installed it. We wish we had more resourses for digging or we could have made the barrier larger and it was a big job my husband did it on his own took an entire day by hand basically. She had like 2 to 3 shocks in the process but it literally took like 2 days since those, she hid under the trampoline a lot after them so I was worried things were going the wrong direction but she has done so so so well with it. She is also not a treat orientated dog so the whole giving her treats to stay in the border thing wasn't going to work. We have had issueswith her independence of going out side and I was worried once she felt the shock a couple times she wouldn't go out on her own but 3 days later she is spending most of the day outside within the permitter on the lowest setting as well. She use to hate letting us put the collar on as well but now she is eager because she knows she has so much more freedom. Great product!

I have had my Sportdog Contain and Train for 6 years with multiple dogs using it. Works great and my box along with original collar still work perfectly! The largest dog I've had on it is my 130lb lab and he even stays in the area when it's or he doesn't have his collar on now. The smallest is my 20lb Jack/Chi the collars are a little bulky on her but when she's being stubborn we use it to keep her in check and in the yard. It's easy to install and I've move my boundaries as needed over the years, currently have a temporary boundary due to some trees down and the wire is just laying on the ground still works perfect. I am about to order a replacement charger but other than that and collar straps as the dogs have grown, I haven't had to purchase anything.

I've had another brand of invisible fence long ago. It didn't work very well so I was very hesitant to get another one. I decided I probably got what a I paid for. I went with Sportdog because it had good reviews and parent company is Invisible Fence. I've had my fence for 2 months and I needed another collar for my 2nd puppy. . After taking the time to train our puppies, it has been life changing. It works great!! The training plus containment collar is a pretty large receiver but our 36 and 50 pound goldendoodles don't seem to mind. I've used the training some and it seems to work as well. I love that I can use the training inside and outside the fence area. The batteries on the collars have lasted for weeks. When I notice them flashing yellow, I charge over night. So easy!! It has made my life with the pups so much easier and enjoyable. I highly recommend this product.

With our old system we needed a collar for the fence, a training collar, and a bark collar. This does double duty (fence and train). This has progressive correction which will stop him without having the shock at a level I don't like. He ran the fence on our daughter's system this week at full power on a different system, and his Dad ran the fence previously and got hit by a car. For people who say it is cruel to use a shock collar, it is worse to be hit by a car. I check any collar in my hand before using it. This has the nick feature which is just enough to get his attention, then he will respond to the tone. Our dog is a big working breed and really smart (and stubborn). Once he learns this is good with both systems and stops him once, he will only hear the tone. This has a display, better controls, and better battery life. ** Pleade note the collar unit is 50 percent bigger.

I have two dogs who I use to have wear just the sport dog training collars so they could roam the yard as they pleased. The problem I would have is my dogs are outside with me and if im not paying 100% attention, my Belgian malinois will go at the edge of my property and want to say hi to everyone who’s walking by. Now if that person is walking their dog, my dog wants to be a bully so I decided to get the underground fence.PROS.1. Customer service is phenomenal! I bought the underground fence that had the training collar combo. It only comes with one dollar so I had to buy a 2nd one. I gave them a call and they explained how to add the second dollar to the system, change the shock settings, etc.....2. Easy to install. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand how to roll out cable and bury it.3. It’s expensive but worth every penny. One of my dogs is a Belgian Malinois and hard headed and I should of bought it sooner. No more standing out on my porch in the cold waiting for my dogs to do their business. I can let them out, go into the kitchen and make some coffee, and they’ll stay in the yard. It’s a great quality product.4. The overall unit gives you different options as far as boundary notification, warning system on when there’s a break in the underground fence so it’s not working.5. Battery life is outstanding.CONS1. THE TRAINING PORTION IS NOT WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY! I wanted the training/underground fence In an all in one combo so I paid for it. I didn’t want the hassle of switching collars when we would go to the park, hiking, etc... I have the Standalone sport dog training collar that my dog that’s not an underground collar, it’s strictly just a training collar. It will be on setting 1 and my dog will feel the shock if he’s acting up. Now if I have it on max setting on 8 with the electric fence/training collar, it doesn’t even phase my dog. Save yourself some money and just get the non training version.2. I bought the 1000’ of cable. Since splicing would be involved, you would think they would give enough hardware to do all of the splicing. You need a minimum of three splices if you’re running more then 500’. One splice to connect the two 500’ rolls together plus two splices where you’re canceling out the cable so your dogs can cross in your yard. Make sure you buy the splice kits on amazon. You just need the fittings that are waterproof and can be buried underground. I couldn’t find a local hardware store that sold them.NEUTRAL1. The notification for a low battery is a beep every 30 seconds or whatever. The same beeping sound it gives when your dog is near the boundary wire in your yard. If the dog is wearing the collar inside the home and it starts beeping, your dog gives the WTF is going on so just keep your eye out on that or make sure you take it off each time when they are in the house.

The remote is programmed for 2 dogsWhen going from 1 dog to the other it seems to delay. I will press the button multiple times and then all of a sudden it works could be the 8th or 9th try. Then works every time with the same dog .It's just that switch to the next dog maybe a defective remote. The actual fence part is not hooked up. Own 3 acres just trying to figure out what to give the dogs. That will have to be an update

I have two dogs: Bermise mountain dog and boxer/mix. I considered giving the Bermise away because she was too much to handle. Has seperation anxiety..wrecks house while alone indoors..$$$$They would leave the yard alot, go up the road to other neighbors, would escape enclosed kennel ($$$) constantly chewing and digging their way out while at work. One was trained by trainers$$$$ I had training collars with batteries.$$(Pet store brand) batteries needed constant replacing as well as poor range..I would be , pressing the button repeatively, calling them, having to keep an eye on them. Overwhelmed with a two 2yr old and infant we saved up to buy this..Worth every penny!!!!I no longer have complaints from neighbors or anxiety over them. I don't have to worry that they have run off while I'm not home.Love the rechargeable/waterproof collars. Battery life lasts long. Weve taken them swimming with the collars, no issues.I like that there's a warning if the line signal has issues. It's only gone off while installing system to wall and the cord attached came loose..easy fix.I had to buy an extra collar which was easy to program. We used a shovel to bury the line which worked fine but I recommend rental equipment.Works great on 4th setting goes up to 7.Disadvantages- I will have to buy another line splitter adapter the package only had one.I think the tone doesnt always work quickly enough (could be my settings) but the dogs learn the boundaries over time regardless.
