I've always been a fan of the Spider brand, and IMHO this windbreaker has just one flaw. Let's start with the positive: it weighs very little, it's water-resistant, and offers ample protection against winds. Note that the manufacturer states that this jacket "keeps you dry during LIGHT RAIN and damp conditions." Lots of pockets make it very practical, and the green color I chose is very easy on the eyes. I also appreciate the subtle branding. Now for the not so positive: the strong elastic waistband. If you're like me and you carry a little extra weight in that area as so many men do (I know, I'm working on it), this windbreaker will put all your extra pounds on display in an unflattering way. It feels and looks tight, so in this phase of my life I prefer a windbreaker without all the elastic. But this is primarily a ME-problem, right?

Got this "windbreaker" jacket for it's looks and color. It actually is warmer than most others as it has a bit of insulation underneath. But it's still extremely light. Very good choice to go out in chili and windy outdoors with light rain. Hoodie is not overly big and baggy. Easy to put up and use drawstring to fasten. Overall just perfect!

The size chart listed only lists chest and sleeve length, and I chose the large size based on that. Everything seems fine except it is kind of tight in the shoulders, and feels a bit restrictive. You might want to look at a larger size if you need a lot of reach and range of motion.I like the style and light weight, and it should be very packable. The color says "spruce green" but I would call it more of a mint green. Not bad, but not as dark as I expected. I will say that had I seen the color in person, I would have chosen some other color.I think it will ride either in my car or backpack in case I need a bit of insulation on a wet day.

I wasn't so sure I loved the spider logo and white stripes on the sleeves when I took it out of the bag. But as soon as he put it on, my doubts were alleviated. It's a sharp looking windbreaker. Not warm, of course, but it is water repellent. It does its job and looks good doing it. My guy likes it a lot. He's about 5'8", 145 pounds and wearing the large.

Nice jacket. Works well for short walks in the spring or during warmer months. I like the water repellant surface and its really nice to have a full rain hood. I wish the hood was detachable or at least storable in the neck piece but I'd still rather have it than not at all. The pockets are lined with a really soft felt-like material that feels great. I'm not crazy about the giant white strip on the outside but it makes for a really decent way to keep visible at night so this would make for a good walking jacket. I'm 6' (slim) and this jacket fits me like a glove. I still like my Helly Hansen a bit more but for less than half the price, this jacket really holds its own. I definitely like the way this jacket looks but I wish the green color was a bit darker and a bit more saturated.

I was looking for something that would be light weight and packable, something that would provide that outer layer of protection during moderately cool weather. This is the one. First, sizing...I wear a large and sometimes I end up with something that doesn't quite fit my...tummy. This is not a problem with this jacket, it has more than enough room to make me feel very comfortable. Next, I was concerned about the insulative property of the jacket. While this jacket is not lined (that would defeat the packability) is does have a thin layer inside that is amazingly effective in keeping the cold out. Add this to a sweat shirt and frankly, you're good to go down to all but the most extreme cold weather. The outside provides a barrier to wind and, the cinching on the sleeves and waist make this a pretty good spring/fall and light winter jacket. The hood is a bonus feature to me. I don't think the water resistance would stand up to a monsoon or anything, but for light issues, I think this is a great jacket. Now, the least important feature to me is the looks (LOL). It is a very nice looking jacket, I got the beige one with the black stripe down the sleeve. I like it a lot.5 Stars from me.

The Spyder Windbreaker/Raincoat is a great product. You get elastic bands around the base of the jacket as well as at the end of the sleeves to give you a perfect fit. This jacket is a good wind breaker as well as a raincoat with a hood. I love the way this jacket looks and feels. In addition, you get three lined pockets. At less than $50 this is a great value and the fit is just right. This jacket is easy to recommend to others.Update: A few weeks into having this jacket and the pocket seam totally broke open. I hope the rest of the seams hold together.

I’ve like and worn a lot of Spyder products so I figured I’d try this for a new coat. I’m very happy to say that this jacket is actually water proof. When I tested it, water beads up and runs right off everywhere except the zippers. You might get a little damp in a downpour but you’d be perfectly dry in a light rain. The jacket is pretty close to the sizing guide but if you’re close to the margins I would go a size up. I’m a 42 chest and got a medium. It fits well as is, but is too small to go over a hoodie. For a light rain jacket this one is great bang for your buck!
