This product would be great for the correct brakes, Code RSC. I was mistakenly informed that this kit was interchangeable with the Code R brakes but the pistons and plunger are not the same. Only the bladder and bleed screws were of any use. I did get the piston out and cleaned and back on the trail but now will do the service again with the correct kit. Caused by my own ignorance but gave it 4 stars because the kit did not include the required barb and compression olive (stealthamajig) to complete the job for all RSC or R brakes.

Viene empaquetado de una manera muy intuitiva y al momento de hacer la reconstrucción interna del freno es más sencillo lograrla. El resultado final es bastante satisfactorio y el freno funciona como cuando estaba nuevo.

SRAM didn't fully solve the piston swelling issue with the V2 pistons. Although these can take a bit more heat, they still swell on sunny 85+ degree days. Brakes turn soft and dangerous.Replace your pistons with the metal ones, just make sure to get the right sized piston for your brakes. Check the O-rings that come with the metal pistons though, I have found them to be to large. If they are, replace them with the O-Rings on your original pistons. Do this and your brakes will perform better than yo ever thought they couldSRAM SERIOUSLY needs to change the material for their pistons.

If you are looking at this product you likely have sram brake levers that have poor rebound (don’t snap back quickly) or slightly draggy brakes. The little plastic or nylon piston in the cylinder swells up over time and in hot weather this can become much worse and not rebound quickly causing the calipers to drag on the rotor and poor braking in general. This kit has everything you need to replace the piston. You’ll need to do a brake bleed kit as well.

This V2 kit solves the sticky plunger/piston problem associated with the early RSC levers. It is a complete rebuild, and you will be happy to do this instead of just the plunger/piston replacement. Follow the instructions on SRAM’s website and your brakes will be better than new. Check the tools you will need before you start, and don’t forget to buy a bleed kit and DOT 5.1 fluid. Another reviewer mentioned wrong size of something in the kit and give it 1 star. I believe they are mistaken or not mechanically inclined.

Fixes the whole stuck piston issue in the first couple generations of guides. Cheap alternative to buying new.

Perfect kit! SO EASY. Recommend using Qtips and brake clean for thorough job. Only thing this kit does not have is new bolts for cover and lever. Other then that, highly recommend to fix your recalled lever your self.
