Block height is actually about 11mm [not 0.5in]. Fits perfectly.

Ok, if you're looking at this, you probably have a bike with Hydraulic brakes. I was boxing up my bike to take on the plane to Thailand. I removed and bagged the brake pads for cleanliness and to protect them, and installed these bleed blocks to hold the pistons apart. I used Ty-raps to secure the blocks in position. When I got to Thailand, the brakes were fine. Note that one brake block was supplied with the Avid/SRAM brake bleed kit, and I ordered one additional block (two wheels, two blocks!).
