Now, it's available in a more wallet-friendly version made of steel. The X-Sync 2 Steel Direct Mount Chainring gives you the same performance as the aluminum version at a fraction of the cost. There is a weight penalty, yes, but this steel version is actually more durable than its aluminum counterpart. It fits SRAM direct-mount mountain cranksets and is compatible with Eagle 12-speed mountain drivetrains, as well as earlier SRAM 11-speed mountain drivetrains. This option has a 3mm offset, for Boost chainlines (12x148mm rear spacing).

The photo for this part is the wrong one, it's an older style X-Sync one. The description and title are correct, it's the X- Sync Two. I replaced the part today really quick, I went from a 32t to the 30t on my GX Eagle. I noticed climbing is way easier and more consistent like the 3x7 set up on my previous bike, even though I have bigger wheels and tires on my new bike. I 'll be taking this on it's first long ride in a few days and will post an update. So far so good on the quick ride.

Worked perfectly to replace my stock GX Eagle 32T. This steel ring is obviously heavier than the aluminum one that it replaced, but I knew that going in. I wanted to experiment with a lower granny gear for those long steep nontechnical climbs and it works well. You will need to shorten the chain a little after installing this.
